The world has gone mad! Mad I tell you!

If you did a little research, you'd find that Hitler and Stalin were former persons of the year as well. The selection has nothing to do with the person's admirability. Time selects a person who "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

Got into trading after college, 1 year retail, 1 month prop so far...I have issues..

This is such a fallacious statement, I'm not even sure where to begin. If it were that easy, we'd all be rich.

    The case against college.

You really need to be careful with engineering because certain disciplines are saturated with new grads and job growth appears bleak. This is especially true for electrical and mechanical engineering. EEs and MEs are easy to outsource. Civil and chemical are definitely the way to go.

Get a real job before this kills you. Hopefully, you majored in something useful. As a trader, you're up against some of the greatest minds in the financial world. You don't stand a chance.

    The case against college.

You sure about that? Most employers would rather hire someone with a traditional computer science degree over someone with a "game design diploma". That diploma may help you land a job, but you'll hit a glass ceiling rather quickly.

    The case against college.

This is what happens when you make HS attendance compulsory or pay kids to attend. Employers require a college degree because the HS diploma has become worthless.

    Government Motors

You can pick up a used mid-90s Civic for about $3k with 100-125k miles. If well maintained, they can easily last an additional 150k miles with pretty good gas mileage. I have absolutely no clue what GM is thinking pricing this car at $40k. If I was going to spend $40k for a Chevy, I'd buy a...

    Teabagger wackos...

The problem is that they've actually deluded themselves into thinking conservative politicians give a fuck about them. Karl Marx was right. When the bourgeois want to remove the fetters that are holding them down, they'll temporarily get in bed with the proletariat until the fetters are...

ThE US Is Going To Service $100 Trillion Debt With $2 Trillion ????

Some of you wing-nuts really are delusional. Why is Obama responsible for the out of control spending, but not Bush? BTW, Austrian economics is not the answer to our problems unless you enjoy living in squalor as your ancestors did 100+ years ago. Good luck with that.

10% unemployment but H1B visas accelerating

There is no shortage, actually. There are quite a few qualified candidates which is surprising for a job that pays $30k/year. Unfortunately, in some states, you need a teaching degree to teach K-12. So, a qualified person with an engineering or science degree would be required to go back to...

amex offers 20 somethings the opportunity to get into more debt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not true. I got my first credit card when I was 20 (5 years ago). I put $1000 on a BOA secured card. That money is used as collateral in case I can't pay it off. Less than a year later, I got my $1000 back with interest and the card automatically switched to a regular unsecured card with a...

10% unemployment but H1B visas accelerating

H1Bs are simply corporate America's slaves. They don't have the balls to demand a real wage, because potential employers wouldn't hire them if they did.

College Degrees More Expensive, Worth Less in Job Market

A university education has always been about teaching people theory rather than hands on skills. If companies don't like it, they need to stop recruiting from universities and recruit from community colleges and vocational schools instead. For example, most engineering jobs require a...
