What size are your going to trade?

There is no such thing as "overbought". Price-derived indicators cannot tell you how many traders are still queued to buy.

Good for you! You buy beers for us tonight. We will buy for you another day :D Let's see... Stoch(14,3,5) gave a great sell yesterday at 13:55CET in FESX: 55 full points in a few hours until stochs crossed above 50 again! Trading is easy!

The problem is that when you define the profile of the noise you want to filter out, it changes. Slippery business, isn't it? The neural net inside your head is capable of adapting faster than any other adaptive filter you may want to use. (Let's also stress here that the...

You have a point in this. Indicators can be helpful to bad eyes. But still, you will only "see" the things that the indicator's parameters allow you to see, while with a naked eye your brain will try to match a fit dozens of parameters in a split second. In any case, you won't create...

From an information theory point of view, you are wrong. You can't create information out of nothing. There is nothing more in the price than what a sharp eye can see.

You may be wasting your time... Two things work in today's markets: 1) fading (bait 'n' reverse), although this seems to become noisy as well and you may end-up where you started (minus commissions) 2) momentum strategy WITHOUT STOPS (if you have the guts).

Backtest it, and come back to me. I bet you will do better if you fade its most obvious signals.

When are people going to understand that all those indicators are derivatives of price and actually provide *less* information than the price itself? And they have absolutely no forcasting value whatsoever... What you currently see in %R is just coincindental. The time will come that you...

    IB accrued interest

OK, this sounds too good. Monday + Tuesday you still receiving interest on 100K USD. From Wenesday on, you start receiving interest on 83K EUR. Everybody happy. However, it's not a realistic forex trade at all. You assume someone just changing his 100K USD to EUR. The trade doesn't even...

    IB accrued interest

Sure. Yet, a single word can bring an almost buried thread into life. Another question: Since IDEALPRO is an ECN, it's possible that a forex trade takes place between two IB traders. Why this trade settles after 2 days and not immediately (or at least at the end-of-day)? It's just...

    IB accrued interest

Please explain how this works... If I make a single forex day-trade (in-and-out before 1700EST e.g. on Monday, I am still credited/debited interest until the trade settles (i.e. Wenesday). Right?

    Same rules, different time frame

Not true. You are looking at 5 bars in both cases. The corresponding time shouldn't matter. Maybe your answer lies to the fact that the 5min chart is so over-used that it's S/N is much lower making any known and naive strategy to fail.

    IB accrued interest

disguistingly profitable... And even more disguisting is that they don't have the decency to comment on the issue. Deliberately not mentioned at their web-pages. Those are the hidden costs of forex! I am alerting any Forex trader to check how bad and ugly his interest "haircut" is...

    IB accrued interest

They would like to bury this thread, I think... The gigantic interest charges generates lots of cash for them. As I mentioned in another thread, I didn't have a *single* month without interest rate charges...for at least 6 months in a row... Those charges amounted to around 3%/month (on...
