    My New Laptop System - Please Critique

    they might be equally important. take a screenshot of task manager while running your backtest... (like the one I attached) that way we can see the CPU utilization and memory usage for the process... If you need help getting a screen capture of task manager, just ask... -mnx

    My New Laptop System - Please Critique

    I'm pretty sure Gnome is wrong on this one. All backtesting software is known to be extremely processor intensive... A faster cpu will *likely* speed things up. I've got 3 machiens here, dual core @ 2.5GHz, 2.9GHz and a quad core oc'ed to 3.4GHz. If you want me to test something and time...

    Swift vs. Title, opinions?

    IMHO that depends on which offices you are looking at. what city do you live in? the majority of complaints I hear about both firms are due to their trading software, however Sterling Trader Pro (title's software) beats prosperpro (swift's software) hands down. (Sterling is far more...

    Why is IKEA Canada so expensive?

    everything is more expensive here than in the US. companies price products here like the USD/CAD exchange rate is still over 1.20... it's slightly obnoxious... that is why so many new cars buyers make their purchase south of the border. - mnx

    Vista = Windows ME.

    I agree with pretty much everything you said. It's cool to bash microsoft, and especially vista, so everyone does it. I remember when windows 95 came out, people said to avoid it like the plauge, eventually we all used it.... (or at least all windows users moved on to it). Similarily...

    This is the last move for Crude --shaping up just like the wheat trade!

    You just proved that you are definitely not a trader with that ignorant statement. (or at the very least not someone who trades more than once or twice per day) If something goes up too quickly it's usually an excellent candidate to short. vice versa for something that goes down too...
