when do e-Cbot 30 Year Bond Futures move to CME Globex?

I haven't been able to confirm this directly, but most of my data fees for CME/Cbot products are going up January 1, but the Cbot Emini still remains at zero. But probably not for long. So I guess that's the answer. Or, in other words, "People of the same trade seldom meet together, even...

when do e-Cbot 30 Year Bond Futures move to CME Globex?

January 27 is the official date, but that's a Saturday, so I suppose January 29 is the date for traders. Or, well, 6pm on Sunday the 28th.

    Networking dsl connection

Don't you have more than one port on your DSL modem/router? Most have four nowdays. Just plug one computer into one port and the second into another. You can't split one Ethernet cable (as far as I know). It doesn't work like cable tv. If your modem only has one port, I think you need...

    Ueber technology in Wellington?

You know, I think (without really knowing what I'm talking about) that's a good possibility. Reason is, my ISP's POP for my connection is in Austin, Texas and Austin has fairly substantial movie industry production activity. Thanks!

    Ueber technology in Wellington?

For some reason, I'm getting latency to Wellington that's as good as my IB connection, and I'm wondering if anybody would be willing to explain that. Here are some results showing the anomaly: Mumbai 625ms Singapore 535ms Auckland 385ms Canberra 236ms Sidney 220ms Wellington 65ms...

    Velocity thread deleted. WHY ?????

It's impossible to know what's happening without the financial statements. From the way the segregated funds have acted, I would hazard a guess that negative cash flow caused by loss of customers during the troubles a few months ago was funded in one way or the other by the liquidation of...

eCbot vs Globex Order Type Changes

I've attached a file with the startup dates from the same document the order types came from. (The data are in a table and I can't figure how to get a table to copy here, so that's why it's attached.) The original document is here: http://www.cme.com/files/cbotclientimpact.pdf...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Ok, for all of you on the edge of your seats wondering, "Will bumble really speed up his internet connection?" I've tried a number of different RWIN sizes and here's what happened. First, I should say that the "correct" window size seems to be an estimation. There are different suggestions...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Hmmm, yes, I suppose that could be a problem. I've got two LOM network controllers. One is part of the NVIDIA nForce4 SLIx16 chipset. The other is a Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-e Gigabit Ethernet Controller. Both return the same results on the speed test. What do you think?

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

xiaodre, I tried all four ports on the modem individually, and that didn't make any difference, so it does look like the windows machine is where the problem lies. Of course, I'm not sure it is a problem in the sense of something wrong. It may be working just as it should and just can't go any...

eCbot vs Globex Order Type Changes

I made a file of the changes from eCbot to Globex that are coming up on the changeover in January that I thought would be useful to eCbot traders. There are a number of differences that might trip you up if you are not used to CME orders. I have observed over time that a number of traders are...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Naw, I was just done for last night. I'll see if I can get a better parameter after the market closes today. Thanks for the help.

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Well, that's a good suggestion, except that I already had the RWIN set to 513,920 and the MTU set at 1500, so I wasn't sure that a bigger window would make much difference. But since I wasn't sure it wouldn't either, I went to dslreports and ran their Tweak tool, according to which I should...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Very interesting. Thanks. (Unfortunately, my wife was passing by and I read your post to her. Big mistake. She is now going back and forth grinning in a most insufferable manner. :) )

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

silvermotion, I was going to run the patch you suggested, but my malware protection intercepted it. Do you think it's safe to go ahead and run it anyway? (I guess that means are you pretty sure it hasn't had some adverse impact on your system?) Here's the report: This object has a...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

Silvermotion, thanks. Very good suggestion. I ran the utility and definitely improved the speed. Before I was consistently getting around 4525 kbps, now I'm getting 4825. Of course, the stupid Mac is still getting 7500, so I don't have the final answer. Could it be that the Mac is just...

    Question about Mac/PC internet speed

xiaodre, forgot to mention that I followed your suggestion to rebuild the TCP/IP stack. It did seem to run about 100 kbps faster after that, but that, of course, could be from other causes.
