What is arcx?

So is it like an automated MM then? I don't know anything about MMs (if you couldn't tell...).

    What is arcx?

For two seconds I saw another MM in there, AHIL. But then it disappeared and it was back to all arcx. I know someone knows. I tried googling this stuff but I couldn't find anything. Thanks.

    What is arcx?

I use QuoteTracker and decided to try using Level 2 today. Since I don't have a L2 subscription with my broker, I didn't think it was going to work when I opened the L2 window. But it did. But no matter what stock I look at, the only MM ID listed is arcx. Is that right? All the L2 pics...

Scottrade Elite? Or stick with QuoteTracker?

I finally have over $25k in my account. I've been using QT for a while and I like it. Is there any reason for me to download Scottrader Elite or should I just stick with QT? Does SE do anything QT doesn't? Thanks.

Noob playing around with Fib retracements and Andrew's Pitchforks *pics*

Ok, I'll stop wasting bandwidth now and just explain my issue with Fibonacci retracements. I have the same exact problems: 1. Sometimes they work 1.5. and you can't be sure until after the fact 2. So you have these lines where reversals might happen... is there any way to predict at...

Noob playing around with Fib retracements and Andrew's Pitchforks *pics*

Sometimes it works very well, like here, but look at all the other low points I could have connected the handle too... and every single one of them would have given an unusuable pitchfork. The problem here is I moved the pitchfork around until it fit the candlesticks. Is there anyway to do...

Noob playing around with Fib retracements and Andrew's Pitchforks *pics*

Sometimes it works for a little bit... ...and then the price breaks out of the pitchfork. So we also don't know for how long it will follow the pitchfork. It would sucked to have gone long at 14:05 in that pic.

Noob playing around with Fib retracements and Andrew's Pitchforks *pics*

This one follows the pitchfork almost exactly: But seriously, I fail to see the predictive powers of these. How do you know which pitchfork lines will be support or resistance. It's more like "here are some lines...

Noob playing around with Fib retracements and Andrew's Pitchforks *pics*

This thread will be a series of replies because I could only attach one pic per post... so sit tight while I get the other pics loaded edit - all charts are 2 min candlecharts from 2/2/07. I left Fibonacci fans out because I can't get them to work, even after the fact. Andrew's...

    How's this possible??

    Anyone use volume candlesticks?

I just found this setting on QuoteTracker and it took me while to get the other settings changed until I had some decent looking charts. Are there any viable trading strategies using volume candlesticks? It creates a new candle every time x number of shares have been traded, right? So...

    ^ well, that's depressing.

If so many people are unsuccessful traders...

Alright, I know I'm probably one of the biggest noobs on this board, but every time except for once when I've made a day trade, that exact same thing happens. Surely I can't be that important. I doubt the MMs are trying to wipe me out with my little $15k position... But it seems to happen...

Not sure if you meant to include a link to that specific thread, or if you were just telling me to search in general :)

If so many people are unsuccessful traders...

How is that possible when there are only two possible positions?

If so many people are unsuccessful traders...

Wouldn't a viable strategy just be to do the opposite of what you normally would? If you're long, and you lose money, you should've been short, and vice versa. If over time you are consistently losing money, wouldn't it stand to reason that the opposite position would me making money? Say...

Which breakout shape is more likely to occur?

Just to point it out, today there was an example of an ascending triangle that broke out to the bottom. (To any TA guys looking at this chart, the second indicator from the bottom is ergodic. The big candles at the beginning of this chart skew the indicator so after about 10am it's useless...
