I may have developed a new indicator for this type of trading. If we assume that a stop would be run, and fully expect it, and plan ahead for it, and salivate at it's arrival, (with me?), let's call it the Pavlov Reversal Anticipation indicator. PRA for short. We can program an automatic...

Capitalizing on longterm demise of USD

Agreed. I noticed the ads on Bloomberg from MONEX touting the "enormous" growth potential of gold. Not that I would place money on it, but it's a pretty good sign when the kid pumping gas says he's heavy into gold........

    Forex brokers

Maybe they hunt for stops. My earlier post stated I thought that stops that were in popular spots were hit more often. Maybe. On Tuesday around 8:00 pm I went short on the USD/CHF at 1.0078. I placed my initial stop, then raised it by approx 10 pips and went to bed. The price rose to under 5...

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

Worse yet, there are people who rely on Dailyfx for their research and plays. If they hired her, how would you feel about her making the calls?

Cabletrader , a shill for IBFX ? judge yourself..

If I read those quoted posts, using a British accent in my head, it sounds even more convincing!! But, if I read only every other with an American accent, it's not as convincing. If I squint REALLY hard, and try to imagine Elizabeth Hurley tying Cables' words, then I'm convinced it's all a big...

Printing money will lead to market recovery; agree?

We should be fine. It's a cycle many of us have seen before firsthand. Dumping cash into the economy will only prolong the agony. I am one of the lucky(?) who will be receiving one of Bush's "stimulus" checks. I can assure you I will not be rushing out to buy a new flat-screen.

Printing money will lead to market recovery; agree?

Average Americans will spend LESS in a recession, regardless of the real value of the dollar.

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

Just watched another episode. Is it just me, or do the offices of FXCM look like they could be folded up like a 3-card-monty table and poof....... I guess, based on their website, I expected more? I must be in the stone-age, all their analysts look like an MTV reality show.

Which Futures & Forex Brokers are recommended for more than $100K?

It reminds of those call-in financial radio shows where the caller can't figure out what to do with his $5 million blaah blah. 300k. What size trades are you putting on? At 2%, 100k trades, 10 lots, approx 61k margin at 25-1? Is that right? More than that? WTF!!! You need help from us...

If I had 300k liquid, the last person I would ask is ME!!

    Dealbook 360 - any good?

My opinion. Structure would come from regulation. Regulation would come from the feds. The feds are NO fun. The feds will restrict the beatings, yes, but they tend to over-regulate. I don't want just one exchange feed. We need choice. I am afraid Washington will get involved and screw the whole...

    Dealbook 360 - any good?

That would do it. Guess I'll have to stop using the sunday paper for my news feed! If I may ask, what news source do you use?

    Dealbook 360 - any good?

I tested the platform. W I D E spreads. Pushy salesperson. Never checked for variable trade size. Went with Oanda. Although, this morning around 7:30 eastern, the spreads on EUR/USD went to 2.5 up from an already high 1.3. "Market Event??"

    Stochastics

I was being a wise guy, based on all the name-calling. Sometimes it's a little uncomfortable reading all these posts. I only trade part-time, with time during the day to post. I have noticed, during busy market-hours, or news events, etc., that certain veteran posters are nowhere to be found...

    Forex brokers

I do not want to argue about individual brokers and their methods. However, it may seem as if stops are "run" only because many like-minded traders put their stops on similar prices or pivots or fib lines. I have had feelings of being targeted, but in hindsight my stops were in popular spots to...

    Stochastics

USD/JPY USD/CHF etc etc. .....all have spent several days in the "oversold" territory, often making vague attempts to rebound. NOT the grail! When used on it's own, "The stoch can make you broke!!" I made that up myself.

    Oanda FXNews

Good info, thanks. . On the long term, I was looking for a reversal on the USD/JPY daily charts. I'll have to consider wider stops to keep out of the daily noise. It would seem the rest of the financial community is not conviced of Bernanke and Co.'s cranking of the $ printing presses.
