    Trading Natural gas using T/A

Gas is a very regionally/fundamentally driven market. Definitely TA going on here, but as an earlier poster mentioned, the participants are generally more professionals/end users/producers/suppliers etc. Very competitive. After amaranth, I think fund types have been scared away. Look at...

Will you buy timmay's hedge fund book?

SiSePuede! I mean by "success" this guy is probably doing well than most of the other hacks posting here. 1-2 M @ age 24 or whatever is not bad at all. Publishing a book at an equally young age isn't anything to scoff it. My point was he's been through a lot of crap and now he's selling...

Will you buy timmay's hedge fund book?

Ok, so I skimmed through the thread - some great posts but a lot of really stupid stuff here... If you're looking for some entertainment, Tim's book will be great - something new and different. Look at the other crap on the shelves these days...at least there's something here that pertains...

    US Dollar exchange in Toronto

I've used Guardian on Yonge to buy some South Amercan currencies. Found their rates to be good but similar to the Airport/American express booths. Sounds like quite a few Toronto ETers out there!

The next step for a profitable trader

Great words Bill. At the moment I'm going to sit tight and wait to capitalize myself. I think it's my best route because I need to define my own success conditions. I understand there are a whole slew of things that I won't have available on my own, trying to put a value on those and...

The next step for a profitable trader

Ok - so maybe my situation is unique, probably not. I'm hoping someone can identify... I worked as a clerk in the trading pits. Learned a lot there but didn't quite "get it." Graduated university. Went to work for an institution (processor) of a relatively obscure commodity product...

Anyone Work With Active Trader Magazine ?

Could be wrong on this...but I think some 3rd party vendor collects all unsold issues at the end of the month and destroys or circulates them in foreign markets. Niche magazines like AT may simply be trashed though. Active trader is great for new ideas or perspectives...any time I can learn...

    Transition to Futures

Funny he was trying to sell you on "hedge risk." Sure, if the whole world crashes your hedge of euro against those short usd are very safe. Never trust a "broker," ever. I don't care your excuse, they are all slime balls trying to make a quarter off your dollar. This is 2006, not 1970...

    Laid off traders seek shrinks

These are "market makers" - and they no longer have their time/place advantage. Their former profits are now in the pockets of real traders. This is rationalization at work.
