    QQQ traders...

northcascades You say you are using a stratgey buying front month options and hedging with the underlying. Could you be more specific about the mechanics of your strategy? I trade the QQQ and their options quite a bit. It seems to me the index generally moves several ticks before a change...

    Trailing Stop in IB's TWS

Trailing stops are offered through some broker dealers. The question is, "Do you want the latest, most advanced weapons in you war chest?" The answer for me is, YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! If I'm in a fight and some people have knives and some have guns, I want a gun. And I want the best dam gun...

    Trailing Stop in IB's TWS

A stop is merely a trigger for an order which becomes a market order if the security trades at or below the stop price, which is the trigger price. There is no question that a stop order can fill a long way from the stop or trigger price, especially in a fast or thin market. But, if you are...

    Trading Journal - June

Seanote I agree with David that I much prefer the points because often I do not recall or have at my fingertips the size of the position. Thanks again, again, again & again for the time and effort you devote to this site. Also, yesterday you mentioned you placed your stop on an alert...

Yes, that is true, but the jockeying to determining the field of play (the strike price) for that game, which is then played between the call and the put owners and sellers, often starts much earlier in the month. If there is a tendency or preference as to playing field I want to know as early...

    Trading Journal - June

Take a look at June open interest in MO Major bell curve with peak at 55 strike. I have noticed often these large companies have a major tendency toward the peak of the open interest at expiration. Also, the June 60 puts are $2.60 offer.

Could you clearify you post to Rene? You said QLGC had just gapped down about .50 Looking back on a tick chart, I don't see that. Also, you mention squeezing the shorts out by running the stock DOWN. Can you explain? Again, thanks for your help and time.

    George Fontanills/Optenetics

From what I have seen (books, tapes, seminars) it depends a lot on your trading style. If you are a very patient trader or a longer term investor, George's material could be very helpful. But if you are a very active, impatient trader the strategies develop too slow and the bid ask spreads...
