I have noticed my IB quotes are off by about .10 all morning and b/a are making no sense.

I agree, I was making my statement based on Websters definition of gambling, not what society considers gambling. I have been involved in the markets for long enough to appreciate the role luck occasionally plays in my P/L.

Never meant to insinuate you could make a consistent living in a casino, just saying that everytime you make a trade, no matter how high you think the odds are, it is still a gamble. Therefore you could say that trading is gambling. And I don't think that is a bad thing.

Can I assume that people who think trading and gambling are not related make money on every trade. To gamble is to bet on an uncertain outcome, unless you are trading on inside information, every trade you make could be considered a gamble. We all have certain set-ups we like to trade and feel...

I see how you can set sizes, but is there any way to set a limit so that I won't be allowed to make a 6000 shr trade? Thanks

Does anybody know if there is a way to set a limit on the amount of shares I can trade. I remember setting limits on futures contracts, but can't remember how I did it. I accidentaly put an extra zero on a 600 shr trade this morning, ouch!

If you look at my original post on this thread you will see that I did not achieve this number in 2002, due to an unfortunate experiment with futures ( thanks for that universal conversion IB:D ). 10,000 a month is less than 10% a month on 120,000 BP, which does not make anyone a supertrader.
