RealEstate - THIS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND

    Housing Rolling Along 2

I only care about california and median home prices went down in 2006, not exactly what I would call a boom :D Record supply, buyers on the side lines, and record foreclosure rates in 2006. California is 50% of the entire US economy. Chew on that. 2006 was not a good year for housing.

    Housing Rolling Along 2

Thats incorrect. The gap between fixed and ARM was much wider earlier, and ARMS were much lower. People got ARMS as low as 3.3%. A 30 year fixed is 5.69% today. Thats a massive difference in mortgage payment.

PS: California is #1 in foreclosures now, up 96% in 2006, it will only get worse.

    Housing Rolling Along 2

"there are not too many more negative news events possible to drive prices down substantially below this level" We dont need news events. That is not what is going to make the market move lower. At least in california. Interest only loans are starting to reset, so monthly payments...

    Housing Rolling Along 2

You are all making this way too complicated. Homes sales are based on mortgage payment affordability. Rates are still very very low right now, and have been trending down lately. Joe average isnt even aware of all the crap we talk about, all he cares about is what his monthly payment is...

A sense the housing market has bottomed.

End of 2008 will be the year to buy, MAYYYYBE. Everyone is underestimating how long this will take to unravel.

    The Iraq "Civil War" -

I see you like to read garbage journalism. "since the invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein"... the article blames all deaths on the USA, even when it doesnt cause them. Absolutely irresponsible and bias crap reporting. They are actually counting and pinning ALL deaths after the US...

    The Iraq "Civil War" -

Yes, a dictater that invaded Iran, causing the deaths *millions* of people, murdered hundreds of thousands of his own people and later tried pulling the same shit with kuwait is gone, then violated 17+ UN resolutions, is now gone. Now he is dead, along with his psychotic brothers, and you...

It is going to be an awesome 2007 for ET Log yor Requests here

Change nothing. The only reason ET is popular is because it was one of the first decent trading sites. People come here because it has the most people, period. First to market usually wins. Its not the features that attracts people, the ET board is pretty basic.

Why is it so hard to beat the market?

If you are not beating the market, then you shouldnt be trading in the first place. Its a lot less work to simply buy the index and become a buy and hold investor. If youre not beating the market, then joe average who puts money into the index each month with zero work is kicking your ass...

Why is it so hard to beat the market?

Are you implying that because markets change their stripes daily/weekly that systems cant be developed which can withstand these changes? If so, you are simply wrong. For example, I have several systems that have been running live for several years and backtest great for 15+ years. Probably...

Why is it so hard to beat the market?

Psychology means nothing without a system that has a positive expectancy. Im getting tired of hearing this gobldygook about how its all so simple and its just psychology. For full auto traders like me, psychology means nothing. If you have robot like, rock solid psychology, you will still...

Poll: I trade only properly optimised systems

All my systems are highly optimized to find the "sweet spot" for parameters. You can do this without curve fitting though, and you must do this without curve fitting. Its all about system robustness. If the system behavior is erratic when you wiggle parameters, then its not a good system. All...
