Dest's "Trade Against a Pro" Trading Challenge

I see. btw. I had several business trips to Quebec in 1991. Lots of french speaking people in there. Oh damn it's 28 years ago. Time flies. I remember I bought a camera from there and it wasn't very cheap.

Dest's "Trade Against a Pro" Trading Challenge

Just for fun it would be nice to come and show something a bit different results BUT why restrictions ? "This competition is open to residents in the United States (US), Canada (CA) excluding Quebec, United Kingdom (UK) excluding Northern Ireland, Germany (DE), Netherlands (NL), Switzerland...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

I just thought it may be a bad idea to learn anything from the crooks except how to *not* to do it. But isn't SPX the most liquid stock index options market so why it wouldn't scale up ? I like to keep things simple and as transpanent as possible so this is why I really don't have much...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

This is just only what may and will happen. But why do you worry and be afraid is the question. There is no reason for that. Because it comes from learned habits in your subconscious mind. No matter how hard you decide to not to worry about but you still do it until you can/learn to reprogram...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

It's our recorded subsconcious mind which does it but can be reprogrammed. There is so much shit in there coming from the past which makes human a worst possible thing to be a trader.

Additional information will change the answers :sneaky: I agree there is better alternatives for SR. Here is a good short article about the problems in SR. I personally don't like it because it doesn't distinguish between upside and downside fluctuations. I am more interested in the downside...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

My understanding and experience is there is no right or wrong way to trade and read the markets. Every method is okay as long as it's "consistently" profitable. The quality of the system consist of many different factors and the setup method for entries is only one of them. What comes to price...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

This really is tough industry so I don't understand those who think they can do it part time -> winning consistently. Well there is always someone who can but how many F1 drivers you know and what is your probability to be one of those. It's better to try to earn your living by driving a bus :D

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

In calendar something about 5-6 years but I think the used hours would be a better measurement because we all have different lifes (full time, part time, mixed...). In my case the number 8000 hours may not be far away from the truth. I read somewhere that to learn any profession by the way you...

How much did it take to become more or less consistent for you?

Same here. During my over 10 year trading career I've found only 1 pattern which works year after year (gives a positive expectancy). I have used thousands and thousands endless hours to find an another but no luck. Fortunately 1 is enough. Mental control and money management of course are...

    NQ Slippage

Don't you know the CQG ? One of the most trusted data providers in the business. https://www.cqg.com/partners/fcms?f[0]=field_exchange_name:522 I've been using them about 10 years now and am VERY satisfied. As I already said I've done checks for the data many times comparing it with the CME's...

    NQ Slippage

Platform is SierraChart and the data provider and exchange information was given in the first post. As you can see from the following list NQ has a lot of spikes. This all is at least 8 point (32 tick) spikes occurred in 1 second from last 12 months: Copy/paste...

    NQ Slippage

The data is tick by tick from CQG. For me it looks quite normal. As you can see the ask was hit heavily by the stops and/or possible bigger buy and/or chain of them. Every level traded. In the bigger spikes like this the bid/ask spread gets wider and this is why the sell orders at the top was...
