But if one didn't care about volume, would 15 second bars work? Would they be valid as far as prices go? -Stephen

Can't at least some software generate sub-minute bars? Perhaps 15 second or 10 second bars. Not tick, but maybe sufficient. -Stephen

It worked! Thanks to those that helped. I would not have figured this out if I tried all day. So this is a chart of simulated data from Ninja Trader. I was told it is random and NOT a loop. Is this helpful for practice trading? Is it a joke? Regards, Stephen

I'm trying to display a chart. I used to know how to take the image on the screen and paste it into clipboard and view it. I forgot how. Ctrl-Alt-PrintScreen???then??? Right clicking on the chart brings up a non-Windows menu. (The Ninja menu.) -Stephen

Yes I know. But a 5 minute bar chart is only *totally* valid after 5 minutes. 9:35 9:40 9:45 etc. We know this. I think I'm having difficulty explaning myself in this idea. -Stephen

1000 We don't understand each other. (Or I just don't understand what you're saying.) The idea is to see valid 5 minute (or whatever time period) bars updated on the minute. Tick charts don't come up here. Moving averages should not skew. -Stephen

Lamont C Of course we don't have to talk about candles. Colored-coded bars are fine to display price flow. -Stephen

Price Action. Please clarify something for me

Hi Does anyone use rolling bars in their charts? I'm not sure if this is a real term or not. The idea goes like this: Why wait 5 minutes to see the next bar (candle) on a chart? Have the chart update 5 minute bars (candles) every minute. The first bar of the day would vary in...
