Well, "they" did it...in the very last minute of RTH. With 1530.25 voilated, we're very likely to move up to 1540, where there's a very strong resistance zone and probably a good opportunity to go short.

If they're going to do that, they'd better hurry. I'm gritting my teeth and holding on to my shorts here. I raised my stop one tick to 1530.75. If I don't get stopped out before the close, I'll hold my position into the Globex, where I think there's a decent chance we may drift down...

Interesting that you decided to play this one for the base hit. I'm hoping for a home run here, if not today (in the last hour) then tomorrow morning or later in the week. My stops are close (1 point) so I can't get hurt too bad if I'm wrong here. (Only my pride, Boo Boo, only my pride. :) )

By "swing hi" you're implying that you believe this will be the high for at least a period of days or weeks? (As opposed to HOD?) (If so, I think there's an excellent chance you're right.)

So far, HOD is 1530.25, one tick below my stop, and exactly the same (to the tick) as the HOD of 6/29. If HOD is violated, next resistance is 1540 area.

Looking to enter short at 1530.25 or better at 1540, for a move down to at least 1515 and perhaps 1505.

Possible bull flag continuation pattern here? EDIT: Confirmed bull flag breakout.

Looks to me like typical "buy on the rumor, sell on the news." My guess is that we'll pull back a bit (perhaps to LOD), and then move higher.

FWIW, I'm inclined to agree. I'm showing a declining trendline presently at 1520 and descending at a slope of 4 points per hour. I'm showing resistance at 1522.50-1523.50, and again at yesterday's HOD of 1528.00.

Well, I blew the execution on that one. Entered long at 1510.50 with a 3-tick stop. Got stopped out when price spiked down to 1509.50. Attemted to re-enter long at 1510.50 but never got filled. If I'd had a larger stop (which would have reduced the risk/reward ratio) or waited for...

B1S2, please define what you mean by "short term" in the context of the above. Weeks? Months?

Yes, so far this looks like a great day for an automated tick-scalping strategy, but not so good for hitting any home runs. It would take a rally to 1528 for me to enter short with any real enthusiasm, although there's weak resistance at 1523. Likewise, it would take a decline to 1505 for me...

Well done yourself! My trading strategy for ES is simple. I can sum it up in one sentence: "What would Apex do?" :D
