BOE Lends 10 Billion Three-Month Money, Widens Collateral Range

Mervyn King is brittle and didactic.Of course Bernanke fucked things up a couple of times when he ran off at the mouth unwisely before he learnt how and when to keep his trap shut as Fed Chairman. But King was the wrong choice as BOE Governor when appointed. He wants to hike rates when it is...

What happened to Jack Hershey's stochastics

The obvious is to trade with each upswing and downswing as the follow each other on your screen. You do that in sequence changing back and forth from long (buy start of each upswing) to short (sell start of each downswing) as you proceed through the days trading menu. You stay in play for the...

It is foolish to have trades open during the Fed meeting... Don't predict!, react!

Nothing to do with it.The market is not some monster to fear. Whatever your position before the Fed announcement keep it or change it (and keep changing it as required) so you follow the ES or YM technically in what is usually a fast market as it digests the announcement. Use a finer tuned...

    Day Trading don't work

No, your brain "don't work" for day trading. Day trading is not for you. It doesn't work for lots of people. It requires a suitable temperament, it requires savvy and it requires a method. For me its a piece of cake.So forget it. Give yourself a break and then do something else with your time.

    Woodies CCI

If the aim is to exploit a particular futures market you prefer to trade in, use the day session from open until EOD by just revolving your position as you go from net long to net short with each upswing and downswing as they follow each other in sequence and the CCI can be adapted to help you...

    Nymex Down?

ICE WTI was trading normally but, yes, the CL feed was abnormal between 10.59 & 12.20, with CL prices mostly coming thru in 10 cent jumps. :(

    When Genius Failed

Thank you. It is kind of you to explain. To be honest, if you haven't been called kind before on ET, you are a kind person. I agree with you and work buying-upswings-selling-downswings as a continuum that being the best mode to exploit market sessions fully from open to EOD.

    15,000 Dow

To be honest I only fished this thread up again because I'd posted my view on a 15000 Dow somewhere way back around that time. Seems like then the 10000 Dow was pretty much stuck in most minds as the range. Dow now is well past half way to 15000 from that 10000 level.

    DMI/ADX consistently works

DMI is a useful little tool to have up on your screen but it lags the actual turn as indicators generally do. It can be good to have as part of your running analysis to stay on top of the days trading action.

A Proposed Debate: SCT vs. CO

The whole idea of this thread is a non-argument. Just cruising the trading day buying the ups and selling the downs in sequence is conventional.

    Welles Wilder's directional movement system

It is a neat piece of intelligence for telling you the trading environment. It suits the experienced or professional trader. It is an entry and exit system also. However you can use it as a daytrading continuum to stay in play and cruise along the larger ups and downs in sequence. You cannot use...
