Why exactly was your point one corrected on that chart and moved forward along the X-axis to the FTT? edit: does it have something to do with the gaussians?

Ivob, the YM FTT'd @ 14:36. The ES gave no signal for change outside of the breakout on increasing volume. The 15:25 bar ran into pretty strong resistance at 1456. I exited after I saw it failed to break that resistance.

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

It's so that when I notice that I made a mistake on the reversal I can then wash without having to reverse again. I could ofcourse do exits, but I would like to see how my results are with this method. I think it matters, psychologicaly, to know that you already have an entry on a good point...

I'm playing around with range charts a bit and I think I found a setting I like. I took a screenshot of a signal it gave me for a reversal @ 12:19. The signal is marked by the black circle, my reversal by the red arrow.

I have a question on Execution software: I use Ninja Trader for sim trading. I would like to try a new strategy where I enter an order in the other direction when I see a signal for change. I would like to do this with my old position still open, effectively hedging any market exposure. When...

Ugh, had a pretty rough day. The morning started off well but after that I felt like I was getting behind the curve. Alot of changes occured on relatively low volume, making me inclined to hold after which I'd be forced to reverse on increasing volume in the other direction. Unfortunately none...

    I'm done trading. I FAILED

This is a great quote. It proves true for pumpanddumper. He wanted a top. He got a top so he shorted and then he got five more tops and had to exit his position with a big loss. Judging from the posts in this thread he seems to have some instinct for market sentiment and contrarian trading...

    I'm done trading. I FAILED

No way this is real. You have been day trading for over a year and somehow you think it's a good idea to get in with 200-1 leverage? ... ... ... I wonder what washed up at ET's shores this time.

Revenge trading, concentrating on break even points, etcetera. They all fall within the spectrum of bad trading habits. This applies to any strategy. In an other thread someone posted a quote by Ed Seykota that said: "everyone gets what they want out of the markets" If you want to...

This is an excellent practise chart. The day was pretty choppy, there were a lot of flaws and the gaussians were complicated. Here's my try:

+47.5 points today  The day started badly for me. I lost 4.5 points in my first two trades. The day got progressively better and I noticed I made relatively few mistakes. My biggest loser was -3.5 and the biggest winner was +17. Below you'll find my chart for the day, which includes...

FTT's tend to occur when price has run it's course and fails to traverse the channel. Before the FTT occurs you see increasing volume and price traveling in the dominant direction. The volume on the FTT bar is about the same as the volume on the previous bar, perhaps it's usualy a little bit...

It's smart to be aggressive, especially when you enter on point 3's. If you exit then and there you'd probably pocket 3-6 points without significant risk. I decided to be stubborn and sit through the retrace. I entered early on the preceding FTT on the 10:05 bar so I had some margin of...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

An FTT almost always occurs on higher volume. What we want to see next is price traveling on decreasing volume towards the RTL. This is the part where our risk is the highest. It's when the breakout on high volume occurs that our risk/reward ratio improves. This is why Jack and Spyder advice...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Futures Trading Journal

I wrote the following in a personal message to bi9foot. I decided to make a post about it in the Journal as it's very much on topic and I hope it will answer some of the questions: A retraced is over when you see increasing volume in the dominant direction, but often a point three has...
