That is such a stupid comparison. Anyone.....reasonably intelligent....can learn to understand markets and trading after a period of study and practical experience If 12 to 16 years are needed then trading isn't a good choice.

So lost in this whole conversation is "Where the Hell are the Parents"? It is the job of the parent to prepare their young to set out into the world... It has always been expensive to raise a child. In the 1960's there was no EITC, Child Tax Credit, Education Credits...etc that gave any break...

I think a good number of people do. I pretty much only trade the options. Buy or sell the cash only when I absolutely need the hedge. However I'm not a TA or PA type "day" trader. oops..responding to Visaria

when you read thru it the TP never requested Trader status with the IRS and reported gains and losses on a SC D...expenses on a C...thats the mistake from the get go. Also it appears he may have been co-mingling expenses...they seem rather excessive..dunno just a cursory read thru.

You can also trade future options the same way.....as vert spreads...flys..whatever trips your trigger... That may be what you mean the futures option instead of the cash?

Good for you. I do whine when I lose but don't recall ever cheering about almost making $20...you must have me confused with someone else. But of course YOU never make a mistake or are wrong. I'm very comfortable with who I am and how I trade...thx for the entertainment.
