As usual surf's call on the Dow was EARLY but it was called and recorded.
I have this same experience and I have not found a quantifiable answer because "some" trades do require patience before they end up being profitable.
I know some traders that do use time stops but personally I have found them in effective for my style.

Few prop firms will give you any training because 95% of them do not give a hoot about you, even though if they were smart they would.
Find a good mentor FIRST and foremost OR study till you are extremely confident and I do mean EXTREMELY.

Of course you would need to tweak this depending on your style, a scalper on a 3 min time frame may need to adjust this accordingly vs someone like myself whom trades off a 15m chart.
The principle is simple,
Decrease size when losing and increase size when winning.

I have never seen her trade but in the time we spent together she "seemed" like she was doing ok.
That being said, I do not know for certain and her consistent progress into system selling over trading would be a caution flag...

This is NOT a market trick method, it takes market conditions into effect and therefor has legs.
When I have more time I will backtest it across multi market conditions but because I do it manually that takes time but I'm sure it will still perform.
