    USD in 2006

EUR/USD has risen to 1.2300 in just 2 days. I believe we're on a secular uptrend. The technicals are still bullish, but I won't elaborate on that. H&S with a target of 1.2450. International tensions(high oil prices, Nigeria, Iran etc) are likely to give the EUR/USD a SHORT-TERM boost. But...

Gold is predicting big problems ahead!

I'm long oil stocks and I"m not in category 1. In turbulent times, you need two things, GOLD and the gun. Yeah, you want bread? Make the baker an offer he can't resist(from the Godfather ):D

    Japanese bull market over

Japan down 2% today. Keep bearish outlook. Yesterday, when I was looking at some futures site, there was this ad "The World's Second Economy is rising again, trade Nikkei 225 futures"(or something equivalent of that.) Time to SHORT. The bull market in M&A/LBOs a few decades back halted when...

How would the Markets react to an Israeli strike on Iran?

I think you're in the quagmire already, so... Time to start the war machine again, no pain no gain, better now than later when things really get out of control. $500 billion is a drop in the bucket, it could also unbend the yield curve($500 more billlions tbonds issued.)

How would the Markets react to an Israeli strike on Iran?

According to 2004 numbers: 71% in transporation. 18% in industrial. More of these numbers at http://advisor.investopedia.com I forget which one it exactly is, but it's there. Canada is the top exporter of oil to the US(you see why the CAD is kicking the USD's butt) Saudi Arabia next.

    Poll on next trading day

Thanks for all your input. I'm bullish on Monday, but not so sure for the rest of the week. I think if there is a good intraday chart patern on Monday morning, an entry could be made(index futures) and then a quick sell when it turns sour. Pretty good chances of a quick move downwards after an...

    USD in 2006

Dollar has been on the rise for 2005. However,I think the Euro and CHF have bottomed against the USD. EUR/USD 1.2138. USD/CHF 1.2759.(the numbers come from forex.com) Count this as another of my predictions. The chart is undoubtedly bullish for the EUR/USD and bearish for USD/CHF. What do...

To make the yield curve normal

This idea just occured to me. Huge budget deficits and tbond issuances will drive long term rates up.
