Trump's 'Space Force' could fuel a new $1 trillion economy, Morgan Stanley says

Worked in "technology" for almost 35 years and seen a lot of good and more bad than I care to admit out of large corp entities. Your comment is a bit too general to me. We have a young friend that just ejected from the AF after having serious issues from killing a few bad guys and significant...

Trump's 'Space Force' could fuel a new $1 trillion economy, Morgan Stanley says

Don't want my Tax dollars going that way either, but it seems like we are already far down this road as Skynet is already here officially: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-06-25/aadhaar-skynet-death-glitch So I guess the race to build the Deathstar is on.

Trudeau: U.S. Debt is Not Sustainable

Yep, a Leftist concerned about prudent use of other people's money is fish/bicycle territory.

What job would make it worth moving to a different city? And which city?

Zowie, I'd have to subtract the pretax cost of vehicle/fuel + a kicker for the value of 20 hours of your time/week and compare that to local job offers. Those autonomous Model 3's gonna get you.

What job would make it worth moving to a different city? And which city?

We moved 2 hr from any SMSA. Local expats in the last month I have met: Six from NH, 2 CA, 2 from FL. Maybe the OP's premise of a "city" as the only destination option is missing an interesting opportunity set? :^) T

    I'm considering buying a "smart-fence" Company

LOL ... Amen. "Understand Classical Capitalism, do your due diligence, analyze unemotionally and simply never take a bad deal." Very good advice I received three decades ago from a wise old gent who was working on a Debtor in Possession deal. In it's essence, it ain't rocket surgery.

    socialism in America.

Disagree. Read carefully, Atlas Shrugged was partially a love story about the most valuable, attractive, focused lady engineer businesswoman in the world suited by the three most eligible bachelors in the world. I would marry a Dagny in a heartbeat. An absolutely amazing heroine, with the best...

73 Mind-Blowing Implications of Driverless Cars and Trucks

I love tech as much as the next geek, except these prognostications omit one tiny detail where we have to double the power transmission capacity of the bulk electric grid ... uh ... and then more than double electric generation capacity if vehicular gas/diesel are outlawed as SiVal Touts want...

Does buy back affect stock price positively?

Buy backs converted to Treasury stock reduce Total Capitalization of the firm. Good for dividends and payout ratio if cash flow is good. Not good if Mgmt is coasting and getting nothing right. Lots to consider. Need the full picture.

What constitutes edge / why is my system working?

Interesting comment. In your opinion, what would be an example of the "upper end" of "simple systems " that would be unproductive in volume these days? What do you see as the prime reasons for this? Best regards, T

15% long-term capital gains tax each year vs. postponing the tax

Another thought: Do your inv in a self directed Roth to begin with and make sure you live in a state that is less apt to get tax grabby later because of some emergency they run into like unfunded bureaucrat retirement plans. Good luck.

Wendy Kirkland's F3 Family F Freedom system didn't work for me at all

Taking a longer term view, I can remember 35+ years ago when I would have been inexperienced enough to be taken advantage of to this degree. Fortunately I was able to pull myself up past that point before I got caught. I was plenty naive (really really naive), but maybe a little less trusting...

Tsunami of wealth didn't trickle down...it surged upward...yep news to me!!!

The validity of Pikety's thesis depends on focusing simply on capyield and growth 'only' ... as one more prop for his clearly academ-nemic, anti-capital leaning. Thousands of other parameters impact this and thus make his thesis as dismal as his field. (And if that doesn't square with your...

Long-lasting flow battery could run for more than a decade with minimum upkeep

Flow batteries were originally designed for utility class energy storage. MW-hours. Interesting concepts. Energy Storage at all in market competitive rates is the holy grail for non-baseload alt energy viability. Price to performance w/o govt subsidy is the real hurdle IMHO. T
