Strictly speaking it happens on the floor of the exchanges but I define it anywhere form 10 - 15 pips at a clip, a half dozen times or more a day. I've heard others say 40- 50 pips but there doesn't seem to be a standard definition when it comes to forex. What are your thoughts? Steve

Problem solved. I don't know what caused it but I uninstalled QT and deleted all its files. I then downloaded the latest beta version, installed, configured it and its working perfectly as usual.

In addition to this, the last bid/ask on quotetracker was at 18:27 but my charts print the last bar at just after 11am local time this moring. GBP/USD is working correctly with both the quote screen and charts updating normally.

Thanks Guys, You were 100% right. I spent some time learning about "pinging" and "tracing" after which found a time out issue on, what appeared to be, one of their servers. I then contacted my ISP and told them what was found . They then rerouted my stuff and the problem has vanished...

Hi, The connection between TWS and Ib servers keeps disconnecting, sometimes 4-5 times an hour. I'm using windows firewall and AVG Virus protection. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks

As a postnote, I gave up on IBcharts. Downloaded Quotetracker and after a couple emails with thier tech support (Very good BTW) it works perfectly.
