Newt just managed to spin the "open marriage" thing into a positive.

All due respect to everyone here, I have to agree with AK on this. It isn't just about a scorned ex-wife. It is a pattern of Newt demonstrating that he has a complete inability to discern right from wrong as it applies to his own life. The longer he goes on, the better he gets at spinning...

Funny to joke about, but I don't know. I'm familiar with a few stories of mormon polygamist families back in the 1800's. It was though on everyone, including the man. That's why most either didn't participate or were very reluctant to. Haven't heard whether it has worked out better in middle...

It's true that there isn't a whole lot of difference between an "open marriage" and polygamy which is abhorrent to most in this country. Actually, to be totally fair, the commitments made and vows taken under polygamy actually make it more honorable than an open marriage.

Ahhh, if you don't live in certain locations I think the moral fibers in America are still strong enough to find partners with that kind of integrity.

True. I actually have one very important rule that I've learned never to break in business. Never partner with a guy who cheats on his wife. If his own wife can't trust him then neither can I. Cheating is also grounds for termination in my company.

So what about a guy like Newt, who cheats until he can't hide it anymore, and then requests an open marriage?

    Newt's Oops moment.

I know that the candidates are purposely trying to avoid personal attacks because they are on the same team, but it is ironic to me that Newt is the one pandering to the "conservative christian values" crowd, when the contrast between him and Romney couldn't be any more drastic and detrimental...

    Newt's Oops moment.

We'll see if the infidelity stuff sticks much. Most voters over 35 already know about his personal history. The part about him actually requesting an open marriage is news to most, but I sort of think that if what we already know hasn't hurt him, then this won't either. Maybe with the young...

I think that he is absolutely capable of convincing himself of his grandeur and high moral fiber.

    Newt's Oops moment.

Everyone knows a guy like Newt. Really smart, and comes up with brilliant ideas. But then he feels like he is so much smarter than everyone else that he gets into debates over trivial issues. He might even agree with you, but he is more intent on showing how smart he is. So he goes about...

    Newt's Oops moment.

The worst part was when the guy who supposedly lost his job and insurance, and almost lost his marriage, claimed that he actually got two raises and a promotion under Bain.

I think that Newt's main problem is that most of the older generation already knows this stuff, but that is Mitt's strongest voting block. The way that this could hurt Newt is with the 18-30 year olds who aren't that familiar with his past. Ron Paul already captures a big portion of them, and...

Isn't the interview supposed to air on Nightline the same night as the debate?

Mitt Romney Sent Millions to Mormon Church

+1, but I think we are gonna have to plug our ears then.

Mitt Romney Sent Millions to Mormon Church

Well, I think that is exactly it. Could it be that Mormonism is just less recognizable and less understood? I have a hard time saying that it is any more strange. I mean really, do we really want to get into a lengthy presentation of all the strange things that various forms of Christianity...

Mitt Romney Sent Millions to Mormon Church

Not trying to be a smart guy. Just kind of pointing out the obvious. Not sure I understand your riddle. Maybe I'm just not religious enough.

Mitt Romney Sent Millions to Mormon Church

Considering that the actual name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ", it would seem that any debate on that issue would be pointless. Also, given what I know regarding the core beliefs of Protestant Christians, Mormons, and Catholics, I would tend to assume that the Protestant...

Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge

I think the move by Wiki to black out was a good thing to do. Unfortunately, it wasn't all that well executed. If a user simply lets the page load and then hits the stop button before the "Imagine.." message pops up, then all the content is still there. They should have really blacked it...

Romney urged by ally Christie to release tax return

Trefoil, I still think the AMT doesn't apply, unless his tax situation is more complex and includes large amounts of stock options that weren't sold the same year that they were exercised, or if he was using equity loans on property to fund Ferrari purchases. Anyway, we are really just...
