What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

I came to the same conclusion that this strangeness is because futures are derivatives and to say so "don't move independently" from their underlying. But stock777 now says that stocks are derivatives of futures, so new question arises "what was first an egg or a hen". :)

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Now it seems that I begin to understand what you mean by the "boundaries for the ball" in context of ranging market vs. strongly trending (such as 27th example in your text).

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Agree. Plus due to small liquidity it must be less efficient and there are most likely much less black boxes and "big boys" playing it. So the way for retail scalper is thin contracts. Interesting is anybody successfully scalps HSI?

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Agree that spreads and arbs influence futures T&S very much. I also noticed that T&S activity in futures is much different than in stocks. For example ES may trend up and at the same time delta is strongly negative (bid vol. is much higher than ask). Guess this is all due to games mentioned...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

OK, so there are cases when large sizes below/above closest bid/ask are fake "games" and cases when they are a "wall", what means they are real and support/resistance is going to cause price reversal more likely than breakout. Now the question comes: how to distinguish one type from another...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

As far as I know many people tend to agree that this is what's called "games". In other word such orders are fake to make more participants think someone big wants to buy and then SELL to them. Though I don't have a life proof of this theory yet.

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

It doesn't matter much. For me this information about scalping techniques is more important for better understanding of different market participants interacting. I am not going to join their battle for every single tick. But T&S and DOM are valuable confirmation tools and knowing how they...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Very interesting reasoning Greg, thank you! Need to read it with more attention once again before expressing any thoughts on it. :) Janis

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

LOL, actually I was expecting that other people would better apologize. :) But I am satisfied that at least they stopped a destructive part of a discussion (so far). Your dispute with people like Dr. Brett even when you don't agree with each other always stays a constructive discussion of...

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Please don't make this thread another trash can full of usual crap "gurus vs. guru-haters". I started this thread with questions, Jask answers and tries to help and I absolutely don't care if he's guru or not and even less if he won or lost some tournament. What I care about is that this man...

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

Yes but as you can see some people say it's impossible. :)

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

Right now looking again at IB's EFP page. On a comparison presentation of short stock vs. EFP there is clearly stated that short EFP gives total credit. And yes I don't know exactly how it is done. I have a degree in psychology, not finance and furthermore, mostly trade futures outright and...

IB no interest on first 10K rule, what do you do with the money?

LOL, cool way of answering to posts. I was really surprised to see it before my own. :) Just interesting how all this thing is done and if done, why it's not possible to max the margin. I am not going to transform my trading account into a savings, but it's just interesting how this EFP...
