The country needs a conservative alternative for President

It would please me no end to see the tax system reformed; it is a gawdawful mess. If we can do it some other way and make it work--fine. You are a perfect example of the right-wing, spittle-spewing dubya apologists. If you think GW is a fine example of what the American education system can...

The country needs a conservative alternative for President

You're reminding me of that character on MASH...Frank..you know the guy who thought he was cleverer than he really was. m

The country needs a conservative alternative for President

Maybe Mav would enjoy living in a theocracy...that's exactly what the right wing religious fundamentalists envision. It's just the other side of the Islamic fundamentalist coin. And we can see just how wonderful that is. m

The country needs a conservative alternative for President

What would you substitute? If you say a large modern nation needs no revenue and no government at all, you are whacked. m

The country needs a conservative alternative for President

History's judgement will not be so generous. He'll be bottom third at best. m

There is always plunder. It kept the Roman Empire afloat for a couple hundred years. m

    87 crash

I absolutely agree. It is ironic that most of the people most likely to be screwed by these changes are passionate supporters of this administration. Talk about not understanding where you own interests lie. I see the wage slaves around here, barely getting by, and they've got the bumper...

    Exporting jobs

Some here think we have some intangible advantage that will allow us to stay on top of the heap even though we can't really compete in most ways. I think there will be a great leveling which will not be good for the average US citizen. China, India and the rest of the developing world will...

    Bush Blows It Big Time

Hey, but we showed them, huh! The American holocaust, but we never will face up to it. m

    Bush Blows It Big Time

I just read "Flyboys" by James Bradley. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0316105848/002-7383701-8513642?v=glance It is interesting how the right wingers hate him. He simply tries to tell a balanced story and presents the Japanese viewpoint as well as the US. It also pisses...

    Bush Blows It Big Time

I grew up in CA in the 50's and 60's and I can tell you that the conservative Farm Bureau was one of the big pushers for immigrant farm labor. They needed the cheap labor. They are as much to blame as anyone. Even now, it is employers desire for cheap labor that keeps the flood going. m

    Bush Blows It Big Time

You're not spinning this the way you're supposed to. Rush immediately jumped in to spin it for GW. I think cheapo labor is probably the main reason. Although the rapidly growing hispanic vote cannot be ignored. m

    Exporting jobs

I'd like to believe these bromides, but I don't. The world is going to get really competitive and we aren't going to have what it takes. "American creativity, ingenuity, invention and entrepreneurship — and with the right public policies and business priorities in place." We are...

    Bush...

You're mostly right, BUT BUSH cannot TALK without a teleprompter...that has some significance. He really is not a bright man. But he doesn't have to be...he fulfills the role of puppet just fine. Karl Rove and others behind the scenes pull the strings. m

    Bush...

Careful jb, you'll get spittle all over you from the foaming-at-the-mouth right-wingers. There is a drift in the citizenry toward security at any cost. Gives GW a free hand. Now where is that vaunted 'liberal' media when you need it? m
