    Feeling a Little Down

LOL.. I did have second thoughts after posting because it really is just a waste of time on my part. But seriously, can this really be true? I mean if this one trade is a loss of 15k, and sure, he says he averaged into it twice. But even if we assume a typical trade would net him 5k, how...

what price would a market order be filled next?

I should also add that my answer assumes no delay and that what you see as the bid/ask is what you will get in that instant. By the time you click on the market order, the market will have moved. This is why platforms in addition to market buy and sell buttons have the option to buy the bid or...

what price would a market order be filled next?

My experience is only with futures. So I treated the question as such, even though obviously given those prices, this was more than likely a stock. There I guess you can have those cases of being filled in the mid and stuff like that, which I really don't know anything about. I just assumed...

what price would a market order be filled next?

Easy.. a market buy will be 310.00, and a market sell will be 309.99. This will be valid for anything under a volume of 55, and if more is needed, then the next levels would apply.

Barron's: "Net Neutrality could hurt day traders"

Although I do worry about this ruling, this is after all a 2 way street. If you find your ISP or broker is screwing you, you can always go somewhere else. (sometimes easier said than done, I know) I do of course think that forcing the issue of NN onto all parties concerned is for the greater...

    Feeling a Little Down

I call bullshit on you and on this entire thread. Your explanation above of what you can't remember is no different than a politician or banker being put on the witness stand with the "I can't remember" line as their only defense. Nobody goes through trading like you do without saving any...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Who takes the other side of the long trade? For the life of me, I can't figure how futures for BTC work if there aren't an equal number of sellers and buyers.

IMF Warns Chinese Banks to Bolster Capital

A better question to ask would be if these banks owned Bitcoin, would the IMF consider them to be well capitalized. Why bother raising cash when these bitcoins will always be worth more tomorrow. :D

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Love it! Its funny how easy trading can really be. Well, not easy, simple is a better word. Its of course difficult to act appropriately all the time, but the system need not be too complex. We are after all trying to predict the future actions of traders, which we can never know, and no...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Nor is there any point. I mean look at the chart you posted. Those are daily bars, and in each one of those, there would be major pivots that were being bought and and sold, or defended and rejected, and yet, on this daily chart, none of that matters. What interesting to me is how the big...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

It seems to me that you're a horse, swimming in the river, trying to figure out why fish are faster than you and wanting to race them. You're clearly designed to run on land, and although horses do swim, they never will as well as a fish. Adding to losers and letting a trade go from winner to...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

I wonder if you have ever looked at your trades from just a statistical perspective. Something as simple as looking back at the last 20 trades, and seeing if you either took profit at 1 dollar, or cut the loss at 50 cents, would you have been profitable or not? I of course know you're...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Interesting. What are they doing different from you? I mean there is no point in regurgitating all the stuff I wrote earlier, but I really do wonder what they do differently to be killing it. Do they have a wider stop so aren't stopped out? Do they have a better entry so it hardly ever goes...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Thanks for the detailed reply. This is why I love your journal. It contains so much info that really provides the critical differences between being profitable or not. I find the only difference between someone killing it and someone wanting to kill themselves from their failed trading (LOL)...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

I find it interesting that you let it go against you. I realize that twice you went long and failed, but after you went short and took some off, it went right back up to your entry and even above your short entry. The 2637 level for me was looking quite prominent, and after it bounced off here...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

I have resisted replying in this thread for a long time because frankly, nobody knows anything. Those guys calling for tops are clearly not taking into account mass hysteria, but the perma bulls are also I think very ignorant to the fact of how much can go wrong with this. All you really need...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

I love this line. Your journal, with explicit detail and charts is better than any single "how to" guide that has ever been posted to ET. Its kind of like that Muhammed Ali line which goes something like "Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the face". I would love to know their stats...

    The Super Terrific Happy Hour

Out of curiosity, how often do you let a trade go against you too far and then it eventually turns around so you can get out BE or at profit? I've read many times, and experienced myself, that what is going on is that sometimes, the market rewards us for bad behavior, so we go forward assuming...
