The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

See SPX attachment: According to Elliott wave 3 cannot be the shortest. W3? is shortest at 265.98. So W1 = 537.80(W1?+W3?) and W3 at least has to equal W1 or larger...this market is going to where no market has gone before??? Or Elliott theory is sh...just a theory.

The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

Mup re. 1:1 method: Your wave 1 would not be appropriate because it was less pts than the previous wave. Just in chop. You have to overbalance the greater of the previous 2 retracements, and that happens about half way up my wave 1.

The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

Mup: those swings in wave 3 are just chop, because they overlap. And they are less pts than w2, so they are irrelevant re. EW. But they where buying opportunities:) Read Bryce Gilmore...he explains the 1:1 methodology. Or symmetry by Carolyn Boroden.

The Elliott Wave haunts me tonight

I use swing size to determine Elliott Waves...must be 1:1 of or more of past retracements in trend to establish EW swing. Therefore, unless this retracement goes at least to 1354(107+ pts) we're still in a 5th wave & have more up:)

    determine trend?

Charly, You have to play with the swing sensitivity. Notice on my chart there are gray & orange boxes that represent ranges of 5m & 30m bars. I try to get the UST swings to go from reversal to reversal in each time-frame. Note, you can go down to tenths to fine tune it. In this manner it is...

    determine trend?

It's simple...:D A trend can change only after a greater retracement. In the attachment: the last ret. in the up leg was .64, so on the way down past .64 is short country. In the down leg, .29 is the first ret. and .21 is the second...obviously the down trend will continue. 1.09 is a...
