I will take an educated guess: A remote prop firm will let you trade from anywhere - their office, your home, the library, Starbucks, etc. While a "normal" prop firm requires you to trade from their office. :)

Once (If) a debit spread has reached the short strike there is no reason to keep the trade open - close it and move on to the next trade. There is no reward left in an ITM debit spread, but lots of risk. :)

IMO ...... You can not gauge volatility with a $3.50 stock. :)

The best way to figure out if volatility is high or low is to check the quotes on the 1-strike OTM USO weekly options and compare them on a weekly basis - no need to go back further than a week. :)

Covered Calls and Naked Puts are almost identical in terms of risk and reward. The risk of both is relatively substantial compared to the reward - I would not recommend them. :)

Options are not marginable securities, while stock is. In a $5000 account you can: Buy $5000 worth of calls or: Buy $10,000 worth of stock or: Buy $5000 worth of puts or: Sell $7500 worth of stock. :)

How did that cost you 100k? If the margin is increased on an open position (and you don't have the margin to cover it) would it not be closed at the current price? - Your unrealized gain/profit is now realized. No big deal. :)
