    give me more trading!

Moohead, like i said, i am not looking for 24 hour trading jollies; rather, i'm looking for another market to focus my trading to make efficient profit. i have not gambled EVER in a casino or otherwise, and i probably never will. good trading :)

thanks! how would you compare the ES to the SPI ? I'm looking for a market to trade the opening, or a good slot of liquid trading, like the open here.

    give me more trading!

i think i'm not gonna be up for the european markets (i'm in cali). but the asian/aust markets sound perfect for those boring evenings ;) Sounds like i need to find out which is best -- tokyo, hong kong, or sydney :)

    give me more trading!

ok, well, i did some more research and it looks like the australian and tokyo markets might be doable. i'm out in california, so i think those markets would be open late evening. that would work great. now i just have to make sure those markets are liquid enough, find out exactly what times...

    give me more trading!

uptik, thanks. are any of these markets like the us markets in terms of liquidity? i am in the search for other 'hot spots' of trading like the open/morning in the us markets -- not just 24 hour trading. i suppose both the eurex and asian mkts have something like this?

    give me more trading!

i have become quite bored (a good thing) trading my new strategy, and have been wondering about watching other markets. saturdays and sundays suck! what do you guys recommend as far as liquid markets that represent something similar to the morning of the US markets? i'd love to start watching...

    Is news necessary to trading?

no, news is not really important. ironically, news is usually a lagging indicator.

    Best Daytrading Instruction

There's no 'word on where traders are shown how to consistently make money'. The best, most honest daytrading instruction is going to be sitting in front of your screen, watching the time & sales throughout the day, day after day after day, until it finally sets in. just like other...

Half Hour Volume in the ES

i would bet alot of it is program trades going off. i've seen this on a 5-minute interval, actually. it can be very useful when you are looking for a s/r to hold and a flood of orders in your direction come just as the clock ticks over...can be a tipoff to who is actually moving the market and...

    Trading the opening

you said it exactly right. there is more momentum there, so things happen more drastically. that is EXACTLY why i only trade the opening/morning usually. here's the trick for the most part: be trading an index, and know the pivots. take your positions close to these pivots in the...

Lessons Learned From Profitable System Development

for me, i have found the biggest problem when you find a new system is the tendency to 'trade in a vacuum'. you are so enamored with the accuracy of some good examples, that you are completely ignoring all the other variables. when i started using the floor pivots and observed and learned...

    Trade on 9/11?

please..... this is a market. traders provide liquidity for our market. (so we should short on 9/12 when the inflated run bursts?) this is a 'trading' board, not an 'investing' board. when we are talking about shorting, we're talking about providing liquidity to give joe shmoe g.i. joe the...

    Trade on 9/11?

i fully agree....the gap never quite did close (SPY) this morning, and we attempted to 2 or 3 times before buyers gave up....went home early and we had what usually is a friday afternoon slide.....
