This is not a feature of IB's API. Which doesn't mean that a third party software couldn't do this but not through the API and I also don't know any software which does this.

Yes you are right. See my above post. However I still find it strange to let the user make a choice during TWS installation if he wants to connect through US or CH or HK and then connect him through a server of IB's choice anyway.

Yes you are right. I remembered it a bit wrong. He said that people with base currency USD allways connect through the US server, regardless of their settings in TWS.

So with this trace route why do you want to use the swiss server anyway? Just use the .com server and you will cross the ocean only one time.

Some months ago Def said that TWS allways connects through the .com server regardless of your settings... However when I ping gw1.ibllc.ch it takes 172 ms from Germany and the .com today needs 170 ms which is good, because on weekdays I usually have about 250 ms. Thats with DSL. ISDN is...
