How to treat the 'cannot pull the trigger' symtome

I have a $50k a/c and try to trade only one T-Notes contract. I plan to use 3 points stop loss that is only about $100 or 0.2% of my capital. But I still cannot put on the trade!:( Really depressed!

Does anyone have methods to treat a trader that cannot pull the trigger?

Would working at institutes enforce your discipline?

I want to ask those who are working at some institutes a question. Does working under someone would enforce your discipline? Do they sometimes force you to cut loss or take profit? Do they force you to follow the systems?

Can non-resident come to USA to trade at prop firms?

The other thread sparks my interest in this topic. I am a British citizen but want to learn more about trading at those prop firms in America. Is it possible for me to go there to trade one or two months without a VISA (or with a tourist visa). As far as I know, a British passport holder should...

    Jocke's 1-year goal

Is your stop loss only one point? Is it too tight? Are you a scalper? What is your target per trade? 1 point?

Forex capital markets - Good, bad or???

I know some guys who trade through it for sometimes. They all complained the system wasn't stable but didn't say any thing about the spreads. Is it really so bad?

    the problem of polls

The other poll gives me an idea. That is the people here are either making money in the market or just learning how to trade. There may be some losers that still have money to trade. But those already wiped out won't be here. So all the polls may get biased results.

finally and academic paper you guys will like :-)

Many statistics already show that 20% of people in the market win and 80% lost. We also know personally that many people try to trade would lose money. Their money must be taken by some other guys. This paper just repeated the same statement. The problems are who are they and where are they...

    first trade

2 ticks woun't blow you out :D If you could take losses with a smile I am sure you would make it. Many guys I know could not take a 40 points loss in S&P or 300 points in Euro  One gal I know was wiped out by her first trade!!!!

    PhD without the guts

If it is so, why so many 'stupid' guys still want to teach at the colleges? They could start their own business and bring the money into it and doing research there. Just like the guy from Stanford who create the company called MIPS. I think he is now the president of Stanford. But MIPS is...

    PhD without the guts

I heard a professor at Harvard could make about 150k a year. Some could get 200K. Not bad. I think they could live well :D

    PhD without the guts

Recently, I read about the biographies of many PhD and professors in Finance/Statistics/Econ. Many of them admitted that they felt more comfortable doing analysis, risk management and research than trading. Some of them even said they afraid to put on the trades. So they went to top tier...

New Trader tired of breaking even - Help!

22k should be enough for two or three emini. If you could get 3 or 4 points out of NQ or 1 or 2 points out of ES, the you could make some nice profits. I know some people are just doing that. But they are trading more than 10 contracts so they could get enough money for living.

why there are so many spikes in the chart?

I asked this question before, but no one bothered to answer. Can anyone tell me why there are so many spikes in the chart? In the chart, one spike hit 1.6200 but I find that there is not recond of such trading at this price. This is the chart of GBP/USD.

why don't the funds keep a maximum montly drawdown?

I think if the funds keep a maximum montly drawdown, their reports would be much more impressive. Actually, no one know what they do, the public just know their results from the reports. After lossing 10 or 15%, stop trading for the month. If they got a month with 30 or 40% drawdown, it would...
