    Any Sec Fees With E-minis

Typical costs for emini trading would be Software cost +Exchange+Clearing fee = $2.32 RT anything over that is brokers profit. UNLESS you rent the software monthly like $550 for Jtrader or $650 for TT. Then costs are 1.32RT over that would be your brokers cut.

where to trade open outcry futures?

Try 5perside.com Their cost for pit traded contracts is hmm... $5 per side. Reitberg, what do you mean by charter members? I'd like to trade pit traded options but to do it the standard way I have to call a desk they have to call the floor, get a nominal 2 sided mkt , call go to the order desk...

    Crossfire - Trading Platform

has the feel and look of Pats Jtrader. No significant difference. Main issue could be how many windows you could open at once. I had 2 at a time. they have demo's at dormantrading.com and maybe spike futures

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

Don, how feasible is it to do OO's on ETFs listed at the NYSE? Might make for less gap against/for you but more manageable ?

    Options on futures & IB

Could anyone provide some insight on trading the bund options? Is there time/price priority? I spoke with an FCM and he said a majority of the HUGE volume is crossed upstairs and only printed on the Eurex so the retail guys don't really get to participate. If there are no trade thoughs, and I...

Which "gurus" will provide their trading records?

Even if they show you records, they may be able to "park" the good trades in 1 acct to be shown to the world and put the invested trades (i.e. losers) in another account.

How many daytraders are still out there?

Lescor I agree w/ most of your posts however, there are a lot of people in trading or in any other profession for that matter where the bottom line isn't the bottom line. I think a lot of people especially with other responsibilites would rather be up 70K watching the screens 3 hours a day than...

Unusual Options Market Activity with an Application to the Terrorist Attacks of Septe

Most of the guys who did this lived in tenements, living hand to mouth until their cash arrived from abroad in small bills to go around money laundering/reporting requirements. Even series 7 registered reps at Schwab barely broach what a put/call is. Let's not give these guys too much credit.

    Repair strategy for spreads

I don't see much here. The 35 strike you sold w/ 10 days would prob not have much fat in them unless the skew is steep due to forseeeable news coming in 10 days (i.e. earnings jury awards, etc) Possible repair is to sell out the long strike 40, if there is still some fat AND if the smile...

    Prop Firms That Care?

SLK/GS is top shelf in terms of training, exposure to diff markets, and other perks that no prop shop can ever offer you. If you play your cards right, meet the right poeple, make $ for them, you could be retired mid-40's . I made the mistake of leaving them to start my own little non-trading...

You see options buyers are doomed.

What instruments are you talking about ? Equities, indexes or futures? When I was trading in an open outcry market-soft commodities, we would give quotes on flies, verticals, calendars all the time sometimes only 1 tick wide. I don't think times have changed that much in the pit traded markets...

    BOX - Boston Options Exchange

Tony I agree w/ you about your pt on the PIP. It is a double edge sword. It is good for the customer price taker due to the entire mkt vying to trade against you at a better price than NBBO BUT bad for the customer price maker. If you want to be a price maker as a customer, I am sure you still...

    Trading grains

To be an MGE local, you need about 10K in cash to your clearing firm, $50/mo to lease a seat pre-paid 1 year. With their margins and 10K you would be a 5-10 up local on the contracts. If I was younger I'd do it in a NY minute. BUT those little exchanges tend to be cliqueish, maybe just throw you...

Let's all use software to envelope NYSE and see what happens!!

I tried it at the worst time of the year- last 2 weeks of Dec. Got my ass handed to me. I am sure if I tweak it it might work under limited mkt conditions. Unfortunately the way the mkt is lately, the constant tug of war between the bulls/bears intraday just isn't there- just microcapitulations...

    BOX - Boston Options Exchange

Tony I don't think it works that way. I think if market is 1.50 bid 1.55 offer, and you put in an order to buy 1.55, everyone mkt maker including your broker can "penny" the offer for 3 seconds and sell it to you at 1.52. In theory you win coz you paid less than NBBO, they win coz they are able...
