Maybe look at it the other way, we are approaching the bottom of a 3 month channel, why not put on a CTM put spread?

I went to one of their 2 hour sales pitch seminars a few years ago. Funny, they were using a similar Walmart example back then too (no mention of Jim Cramer but they did say Buffett sold tons of covered calls on stocks he owns).

Coach is short Nov, long Dec and short Jan. The Jan shorts would be naked in a Reg T account and the margin would be huge. He is doing the cross month flies in his prop account and gets the haircut margin there to make this position possible.

It's about time to go with an ATM spread to catch a ride on the SPX train. GDP numbers coming out tomorrow before the open, with the recent market strength it's hard not to think that the market will shrug off any bad news and really jump on good news.

My personal favorite that I check daily to get news blurbs is f1-live.com. The official web site for F1 is formula1.com. Tons of cool information there. On Fri/Sat/Sun of a race weekend there is a section that gives you some info on technical developments of a few cars for that weekend...

Toyota and Ferrari are rumored to spend over $400 million a year. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Spyker and Super Aguri probably $50-$100 million a year at best.

It is great to see the two different styles of diagonals being done, yours and Murray's. Your style seems to be a little less sensitive to VEGA (but still plays a good part) than Murray's because you have a greater distance between your shorts and longs. The trade-offs are that your loss...

Now that is one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time :). I'm glad that Oct expiration has come and gone, it was a bloody month for my CTM plays. Its been quiet over here on this board, I know Cache has other things on his plate now. For me, of the few tickers I follow I haven't...

I must have missed this somewhere, you only do call diagonals?

I'm doing some rough modeling of a debit DD and a credit DD (using wider strikes) both with the same short strike. From what I am seeing the credit DD more or less out performs the debit DD even when past the long strike. Here is what I modeled, play with it and see if I'm off with something...

I haven't tried doing it that way, I always enter one side at a time. I also am pretty aggressive with my orders, not going too far off the mid. Getting fills is a pain, may need to adopt your method for getting fills.

Did you enter this as a DD in ToS or did you leg in?

The macd lines are all over each other with it being so flat, can't tell if there is a signal in there or not :p!

I believe he is referring to being 2 standard deviations away from the market when placing a trade.

Doh! I will go back to my hole now and think about why I was trying to over complicate things.

I have read the entire thread and like what I see. Futures are a relatively new thing for me and I am trying to follow what you are doing. I use Thinkorswim and I am not sure what you are saying about ZLR and ZLC, I assume these are different expiration month futures for R2000 and Thinkorswim...

Looks like you have a bearish bias going towards November expiration. Is this the case or are you planning on some sort of profitable adjustment if the market continues higher?

The probability of a short call going in the money doesn't necessarily increase because of a bull market. The probability of a short call with a delta of .10 has a roughly 10% chance of being in the money. This is true at the time your order is placed. Obviously this changes over time as we...

Do you think volatility will still be at these levels then? Might be missing an opportunity, who knows.
