OracleWiz, Thanks for the tips. I have nice excel spread sheets I keep meticulously for backtesting, forward testing and for actual trades. I always have. Date, time, signal type,Mae,Mfe, 7 different exit strategy pnls, and notes. I do the logging in a big notebook by hand during trading...

Counted it. You are right. It is apparently a difficult task.

A negative day again. #1: -0.15 A trade I filter out in tests. But I took it here. No explanation. #2: -0.16 A trade I don't even take in tests. There is no signal here. #3: -0.11 A valid signal . Stopped out. There is no point talking about other signals I did not take.

Yes I think the same about noise. To me the 1 second chart seems noisy, but probably it is very orderly and profitable for some. Did not know blotto has a meaning. :) So you are even now. Hey everybody, let's keep the personal attacks, bashing , etc. outside and stay on topic. Thanks.

Blotto, I knew you would surface in this thread, but I was expecting emg first. You say you deal with facts: one fact is that few month ago when I read your post attacking Nodoji I felt sick and was sad to read that she would stop posting. I understand Nodoji very well, we speak the same...

2 trades today. #1: +0.02 fortunately some visitors came and so I closed it early. #2: -0.16 Was still not in the groove today, missed many very good signals in the London session.

Yes it was a perfect place and I was waiting for another leg in the correction, that is why I did not enter there. Or in other words, It was not a signal for me on the 5 min. I checked now the 3 min. and the PA was the one I was looking for in the 5 min. Well, next time it comes to me in 5...

Ok. :) Yes, trailing the stop with the 5 min. bar is great in tests. That gives the best exit strategy so far in terms of PnL. But it also gives the most scratch trades. About 40% in my tests. So it is a trade off. Or rather an art, to know when to use witch type of exit. I agree with you...

Daaamn.... CL went up $4 and I managed to lose 0.14. I was closely watching breakouts today as NoDoji described it. Well, all of them worked. I don't mind missing them, since trading them was not in the plan. I had 3 trades today 2 scratches and 1 loser. #1 and # 2 were both with trend...

As I said in the first post , it is a marathon, so I write down my training log as well, even if only briefly, since I think my trading results correlate with my disciplined training schedule :D So I am still collecting km's and the real 18 week training schedule starts next Sunday. This...

Ok. So first week of the journal is finished. Here is the PnL in ticks: The blue is the “theoretical” if I followed the exit rules properly. it is just too early to comment on the PnL. # of trades: 17 # of winners: 7 (3 CT; 4 fast) # of scratch: 5 (3 fast, 2slow) # of losers...

NoDoji, first of all, thanks for the analysis and the nuggets you gave here. I hate to cut up your quote into pieces but it is easier to reflect on the ideas. If you mean confirmation the moment when the low of the setup bar breaks, than you are right there was no confirmation. But this is...

    CL Redux

C'mon , I know that. :D I was referring to Mfbreakout, if he, I guess he, wants to test Spanish' only way of cl trading . Anyway, mfb, to understand the context, read Spanish89 answer to me in my thread. Now really have a great weekend. :)
