Don't know of it. I was under the impression that his strategy typically slow bleeds over time with occasional spikes, except the funds that long with a small portion on hedges. Got a link?

Mark Spitznagel returned a few thousand percent on such a strategy. There is a lot of info out there on that sort of thing. Essentially, he says that the market undervalues probability of downside at times but he also uses aggressive longs for some of the funds.

Disclaimer, You may well be right. I won't be trading it regardless. One trader I know occasionally trades is; he says VXX is best on short timeframes if you can anticipate the spikes and other related volatility pricing aspects. Backwardation would help but the problem is that it hardly ever...

Whenever VXX makes an ATL, it eventually retraces the move. All one needs to do is simply buy on a decent move down on new lows. 13.50 is actually a conservative upside target. That is, if buying today at 10, it should eventually net 35%. Plus, this current level isn't even 'barely' a new ATL...

I wonder if a system based purely on such co-incidences could work.

Did ok today, could have been up way more. Closed TSLA way too fast, shorted Russell after it broke down but again closed fast, just before the big drop. Missed AAPL LoD too. Should have scaled out instead

Missed UAL short on HoD too, SNAP moved too quick for me to enter on the giant candle at the very beginning of the day. Left so much money on the table...

Well, there you have it. Shorted current TSLA high, only took like 1% though... Shorted ROKU at 396 to 390 although it should only be counted as a breakeven trade because I would have went short yesterday, just happened to get lucky there.

Meant to short ROKU at 389. Got the alert and it just hung around for the day so I assumed nothing would happen, but it did...right at the end of the day. It should gap down, but if it opens above, it should hit that same number tomorrow for a hypothetical breakeven or small profit, depends...

Nice chunky gap up, yay! What made this a good trade was that there were multiple long signals on correlated assets, eg both hit support at the same time. Normally, one would just get support hit, but this one is analogous to two of the smart kids getting the same answer in different ways.

Got the 33.85 low. There wasn't enough move up today I think; holding for a move tomorrow

missed entry by 2 cents. 33.85 gdx long is still valid for today although it may overshoot now to around 47.13 on gdxj

gold miners may make a solid move up today or tomorrow, need to cut a little way lower though, watching carefully. potential jackpot forming

My grandma is fat and very old. But, she was super healthy in the old days. Actually, I didn't even want to hold so much and for SPY I didn't want to hold overnight. But my friend was saying it could be $X gain if SPY crashes etc and I just held for a hope. He was also saying if I could get 10%...

It wasn't C2; trading with a friend and I get a cut. That was all in. Shorted SNAP at 58, this represents the biggest gain so far. (I closed the SPY trade for negligible profit)
