Who do you want to win the war?

Hell, we may as well put that astronomical military budget to work, ehh!!! Why waste it on training all the time... war is the best training possible.

Who do you want to win the war?

Iran - AXIS OF EVIL - democracy Cuba - just miles from the US - COMMUNIST (not really) DICTATORSHIP - contained for half a century by an embargo and limited by geographical position. I'm sure I could do some more research work for you, but then, since time is money, I'd be effectively...

Who do you want to win the war?

Is it in our interests to save the people of Rwanda and Burundi from genocide? How about the poor people under that terrorist Mugabe? Should we make political killings by the CIA and mercenaries the norm? http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/02/06/1044498914661.html How far do we go???

Who do you want to win the war?

In MOST cases, the obvious answer is Democracy. But for those of us who understand that absolutes are stupid and that there are usually exceptions to the rule, it would be left up to a comparison of specific examples over broad generalizations that aren't useful in political analysis anyways.

Who do you want to win the war?

Except the American Indian nations... Some of which had democratic rules. I think your rule would work by saying ... with a democracy that believes in western property rights (in the way Locke described).

Who do you want to win the war?

We just need to watch out for countries like Iran '79 that are extra motivated mixed with the WOMD that are floating around these days. If countries with foreign policy like that start forming throughout the Middle East through popular votes it'll look like the moon in a few decades. Oh yeah...

Who do you want to win the war?

I'll criticize you when you're wrong Mondo, but you've hit the nail on the head with this one. We just have to be sure that we're a lot more powerful than the country we're attacking... especially if they have WOMD. And we need to get a lot better at nation building if we're going to make this...

Who do you want to win the war?

Well put. It's like people have blinders that block other possibilities from entering their heads. But what would be the best outcome now that we're in the middle of it?

    War Optimism

Granted, his position isn't very thoroghly thought through (The American economy is making decisions? Is this a godlike creature? "Have you talked to your economy today?"), but Mondo, what should the rules be given that the current conflict isn't technically a war?

POLL: When should Mondo be banned?

While he does press the annoying button a little too hard at times, all of you have to love the fact that elitetrader allows the discussion that occurs on this board. We, as traders, are an interesting demographic of independent people, and as such, many of us will disagree, whine, and bitch...

Best system for Low Volume Retail Traders

Do both systems route directly to the NYSE and Nasdaq? It says that your routing has cost control. Does that mean that it automatically calculates the best deal... ie: it would even execute at a slightly higher share price if it resulted in a lower overall cost?

    War Optimism

The truth is that the estimates are between 2 and 2.5 million people died in the killing fields. Mostly doctors, lawyers, and teachers. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/from_our_own_correspondent/259738.stm There are a bunch of pages devoted to the study of the Khmer Rouge. Just look it up.

She is hot, but it was about time. She should have been kicked off three elimination rounds ago.

Best system for Low Volume Retail Traders

What's the best system for retail traders that do 3-10 trades a day? I'm more concerned with charts and quote boards than I am level 2 displays and multiple windows/screens. And are there any systems that don't charge monthly fees?

    More Proof

Not to mention the costs associated with the aftermath of the war. Not so much the reconstruction, thanks to the precision guided munitions we're using, but for the humanitarian aid and getting the infrastructure up to par. We're luckier this time... they have more oil to sell and less tribes...

    The U.S. Sedition Act

Then again, the terrorists could never get past our strong port, border, and airport security forces to begin with:D I just hope that the congress will give the country the money it needs to fight the wars in the homeland as well. We definitely need more police... especially in places like...

    Media coverage

But you have to admit that Al Jazeera has the trust of the Arab world. And it's because of that trust that they get the footage that they do and are able to pass it on to "American" television. I'd rather have all angles of the story than just a bunch of no-name filtered reporters bundled with...

Another good source is the book "Saddam: King of Terror" by Con Coughlin. Excellent details and personal accounts.

    1000 vehicles heading our way????

Well, following the same "ill-conceived and poorly executed" gameplan, I think they might be trying to take out an entire carrier group!
