    Volatility forecasting

Hi jwcapital, Can you please clarify your post. Do you mean increasing IV means traders expect volatility to be flat to lower and decreasing IV means traders expect volatility to raise? Thanks.

What happens when a state goes bankrupt?

That's not the entire cause. The main cause was Proposition 13 that limited taxation ... requiring 2/3 majority to raise taxes. Now the state can't raise taxes and the liberals don't want to cut benefits. What a way to run a government!

    Comparing Commission Between Different Markets.

I don't trade forex, but my understanding is that for the major currency pair like the EUR/USD, GBP/USD or USD/JPY one pip is always $1.00 per 10,000 currency units. So a two point spread is $2.00

    Comparing Commission Between Different Markets.

You need to factor in the bid/ask spread. Its a hidden cost that can add up quickly. For liquid stocks, the spread is generally $1.00. For S&P emini futures, the spread costs $12.50.

    Switching from ES to Bonds

I ment the (6E) futures when I stated EuroFX futures. Initially looked at the emini Euro futures, but the liquidity is too low. Didn't look at the micro futures yet.

    Switching from ES to Bonds

I switched from ES to the 10 yr Note and Euro FX futures last year. To date, I believe the Euro FX futures is the best market to trade: both swing and intraday. While both market trend well, but they will back and fill. You may need to use a larger time frame if day trading. I went from 3-5...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

The obvious true is that you don't know where the market is going after you enter into a trade. You have an idea based on past experiences/model/indicators/etc. but you don't know for certain. All you can do is to manage that position until its time to exit. The market must constantly validate...

    Hang Seng Futures

filter_sweep Thanks for the suggestion. STW looks good. Just a question about the contract months you trade. Do you trade the near month contracts or just the quarterly contracts? Also, when do you normally roll to the next contract month?

    Question on Futures Options types

    er2 naked future option journal

Domestic, Can you tell me/us why you decided to write naked options on ER2 instead of ES, 10 notes (ZN) or 30 year bonds (ZB). I believe the options volume on the these futures are higher then for ER2.

    Question for Grob/Hershey...

I just started to read this forum. Unfortunately, there is a lot of unfamilar terms being used, such as "ST". Can some one please tell me what a "ST" is or point to another forum where it is defined? I tried a search, but didn't find any specific mention of "ST". Thanks in advance.

    Anyone use my method?

From what I can see, when the divergence hits, my ADX is greater then 30, so while my ADX may be late, it is above the threashold when it matters ... most of the time. :)

    Anyone use my method?

Quotetracker may be using a different ADX calculation. While a Quotetracker chart may not match a Tradestation chart, I believe the parameters I gave allows you to capture most, if not all of the divergences.

    Anyone use my method?

Set both to 14. The "Average" is the period used for calculating the ADX average.
