You don't have to have a margin a/c to daytrade but you do need a margin a/c if you want to short stocks.

You need at least $25k to daytrade regularly (sec regulations). Can daytrade up to 3 times a week with less money.

Why not go back to IB? Can access TWS from browser, also can use the more discreet (but very slow) WebTrader feature. You're familiar with the platform. You know how cheap IB is when it comes to commissions. Seems like an easy choice to me.

Another suggestion along the same lines... Used to be a CyberTrader client. When you keyed stock symbol into CT's stock box, the number of shares available to short was listed. See the tradermike link below for an example...

Tried to short a stock today, order not executed. After getting on to IB, found out that there were no shares available to short. Previously, I would get a pop up message stating this to be the case - no longer the case, apparently. Crazy situation...anyone else peeved by this?

When there have been 60 or 70 replies to a post, it's very annoying to have to keep clicking on page 2, 3, 4 etc. Is there some way to get Elitetrader to display more than 6 results in a page? If not, perhaps the powers that be would consider making such an option available?
