    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession #11: Sure, I put in long hours for the first few years, but I always thought I was the type who would "be all you can be" (without joining the army). Doing well has caused me to become really, really lazy. I almost never trade the afterhours anymore, or even work past noon.

    Confessions of a successful trader

I'm an INTJ also. Rough numbers, something like 3% of the population are INTJ's, tho maybe 50% of those responding to the ET thread I mentioned were INTJ. It appears to be the "most popular" trader type, at least for those who are willing to take the test and post the results on the internet. No...

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession#10. I believe in the meyers-Briggs personality test (great searchable therad on et some years back) And am pretty sure anyone who is an "s" or a "p" type (well over 50% of the population) has virtually no chance of becoming a successful trader.

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession #9: I get really kickass service at interactive brokers thru proserv and especially the block trade desk. I post this b/c 1) it's true and 2) it seems like their cs is always taking shots presumably from customers with small accounts who are more trouble than they are worth to ib

    Confessions of a successful trader

first I don't snub my nose at anyone whether they might be a garbage collector, ditch digger, some other unglamorous profession or unprofitable trader. Second, I had plenty of "struggles" and defied some long odds to get to the point in my life I thought it was worth a shot to try to trade for...

    Confessions of a successful trader

I need to have a long talk with myself about how big a raise I'd get if I quit that nonsense. I guess I can qoute the old disfigured man from Hannibal "it seemed like a pretty good idea(r) at the time"

I've NEVER had a losing trade

Have u always had only winning trades or is that something you learned over time? What was your main focus in discovering how to win on every trade?

I've NEVER had a losing trade

Wow! This is so awesome! I never could have found u if not for the Internet. Are u offering discounts for a limited time? I'll admit I'm not even sure what the going rate is for only winning trades...

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession#8. I reshorted aig today in double size after being smoked out for a large loss earlier in the day. The second trade almost never works for me yet I did it anyway.

    Confessions of a successful trader

No confession there. I got really, really lucky and know it.

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession #7, the longer I've been without a real job, while making more cash than I could if I had one, the less I care what anyone thinks about me, especially some poster on an internet message board.

    Confessions of a successful trader

I had been a sell-side analyst for 7 years and was beginning to hate it. I had a friend had taught himself how to trade and offered to teach me. He was not/is not a guru. He taught me for free. Back then I figured if I could make enough cash to pay my bills, I'd rather trade than do anyting else...

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession #5. I don't mean to be a buzz kill but I think most people who try trading shouldn't have bothered and if they prove this to themselves by losing and continuing to lose they have no one to blame but themselves. If u get to this point and are still searching for ways to become...

    Confessions of a successful trader

Confession #4 is I really appreciate the folks on the site who take the time and effort to call bs on the guru snake oil salesmen. I'm much to lazy to do that myself and I think it does a great service for the unknowing and unsuspecting.

    Confessions of a successful trader

Trading individual stocks has been my full time profession for almost 7 years. I've made more money than I ever could have hoped for or expected. Confession #1 is I read the elitetrader site and sometimes even post. I think this is mainly due to bordeom. I'll follow with more confessions...

Why can't I get a job? Recent Grad, 3.7 GPA, Good Exp, Year and a half of searching..

it sounds to me like you exagerate a lot. You've really sent out thousands of resumes? That seems unlikely. Now ur complaining on the Internet about how hard it is for you. My guess is ur just one of those folks that rub people the wrong way. My 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.

Any prop firm in CONNECTICUT ?

At least one group at SAC is set up for "up and comers" and appears to be more like prop trading, tho not like most on ET think of it. I know of one offer with a salary in the multiple six figures, over 100 million in buying power, and a generous payout of profits (tho i dont remember what it...
