    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Romik, B1 and M4 I am looking forward to following this test. As I don't know very much about divergence trading could you tell me if there is a way of somewhat being able to predict the size of a move using this method. When I was daytrading my S/R numbers I did not have a clue as to how far...

Rate cuts with a rising equity market

I also consider the highs in the DOW as meaningless. If you factor in the inflation the DOW should be at least around 14000. Also on the Naz, back in the late 90's there was groundbreaking new technology going on all over the place. Prices were overinflated to a point never seen before or since...

Wow, have a great weekend. I get to work some more. I do agree you need to trade like a casino. Take all trades that fit strategy.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Yeah, I guess I forgot that one but yes it did happen. Now I don't know how many times it would happen like that though. Maybe I got lucky I don't know. But yes trailing or scaling would have been better on that one. Personally I would favor trailing but either one would have been better...

Not that my opinion counts for much but I agree. I like the idea of taking all the same signals. That takes bias out of the equation.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Ok, Just asking because I imagine quite a few people that could be reading this might be the ones I am talking about. I think most here know that I don't scale in or out. Nor do I trail my stops. I don't agree or disagree with any of these I just don't do it. Case in point. My options trade that...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Yes, you and I know this. I built my account by trading options. But we also know that this is not going to happen. I would say more people are going to trade with max leverage than not. So with these guys in mind would scaling out or even trailing stops be a viable alternative?

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

B1, I have a question. You are saying that scaling out is inferior and is basically a by product of being under funded and over leveraged. Since a lot of traders cannot help the fact that they are underfunded they work with what they have. In their situation using sometimes maximum leverage...

    Losing money is inferior behavior

I tend to do the same. Everynight when I used to post my S/R numbers I would write them down on a post it and have it stuck to my monitor. My rules for trading the ES I have written so many times it isn't funny. I wish you well with your trading :)

    Losing money is inferior behavior

This is the point I used to make in my journal all the time. Pick a proven trading method and master it. Then just trade it in the same manner that a casino deals blackjack. Meaning that you do the same thing each and every time. The key words here are proven and master :)

    Losing money is inferior behavior

Sometimes but I would not say often. Even when someone does ask for help I am very careful in how I do it.

A guessing game - Which posters you think are vendors on ET?

And to be honest Austin does not talk about his company here unless asked about it. IMO he is an ok guy. I don't know proflogic so I can't say about him.

    Losing money is inferior behavior

I am with you. As long as my account balance is going up it will be hard for anybody to talk me into changing my method. And I don't feel like I should try to change someone elses method unless they ask me to.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I don't see what the fuss is all about. The people on here that do make a profit from their trading do it using a lot of different methods including scaling in and out it doesn't matter. Keep doing what you are doing. It is you who pulls the trigger on each trade. It is you who either wins or...

    Trouble sleeping

Cash, The fact is everybody goes through spells of sleeplessness. Whether yours is caused by anxiety over your trades or depression or whatever you need to identify the cause and find a way to remedy it. I really don't know if you are looking for help from ET posters or if you are just writing...

Trader ID: Does the specialist know you are the guy....

During the summer I was trying to get some CAL puts and I noticed that everytime I hit preview order the spread went from .05 to .10 and my order would not execute. I played with them for a few days and entered bogus orders just to see what the MM's would. Once I hit preview order and the spread...
