Thx for the input. I called them - Last year I traded on average about 420 lots/week in a PM account (~ 200k) - ~11k round trips - 22k total options commissions (rest in futures) - also moved a 401k there last year with ~ 400k - bottom line after they reviewed my account I couldn't lower my...

The mobile platform isn't available (yet) - which is quite the pain to be honest - but you're right - the screenshots look good.

It's still pretty raw - like TOS in the very very early days (actually never saw it that early) but it's intuitive - works well and just needs additional features. Definitely better than IB right from the get go - less clicks- easier to handle via a remote desktop session and I'm sure the...

How much do you pay each year in commission. I pay 1$ - no ticket and thought I got a deal - last year I paid 23k in TOS commissions.

I agree - they are still fun to watch though - you just have to know how much of it is BS and like you said "cherry picked" to support the overall message. Too bad if you follow them blindly and dream of good profits by collecting time decay - usually things will turn south just when you get...

    Would you trade this system

It is still running. The overall curve did not flatten (much) - still within the same parameters, however it doesn't absorb any size. The second I tried to significantly increase the size (10x) I ran into fill issues even though those are fairly liquid stocks.

Bitcoin Exchanges - why are the prices so far apart?

I'm assuming the answer is no but can you arbitrage bitcoin/usd on bitcoin exchanges since they're distributed? I'm looking at https://poloniex.com/exchange#usdt_btc https://www.bitstamp.net/market/tradeview/ They are 4$ apart. Based on what I'm seeing you can sell at one exchange for 910 and...

    I think that's the clearing fee (see 1st post on this thread). Why it's 15 cents vs. 10 I don't know :(

Here's a screen shot of their fees and how they show in the platform. 1.15 for the opening trade - 15 cents to close out the position. I guess with IB it would have been around 2.80 as well (70 cents/leg) if I read their website commission table. However I've closed two twelve lots on IB (no...

I see where this is going - I'm going to have to learn some math before I learn how to fish. I guess the difference is how we trade - and the fact that that may be very different cause your math doesn't work for me and how I trade. I do a lot of algo stock trades that I need to adjust based on...

I'm assuming you are dodging the answer to my question - >>which broker has a better listed pricing structure (aka a website that lists better rates for a regular option round trip) - I have to say everything else is BS to me - I don't care about commissions for trading 50k contracts/month - Now...

Robert thx for clarifying. I actually looked at lightspeed before (maybe around 4 yrs ago) cause you guys had API accesss but was turned off cause of the high portfolio margin requirement. I think it had a net liq requirement of 500k vs. 100k at IB or 120 ish at tos. Is that still the case or...

Help me learn something here. Which broker beats these commissions on their listed pricing structure for options? Please post the link to their commission table since I seem to like to throw money away. In order to get this from IB you need to trade at least 500 contracts per day and you still...

Anyone running their algos on AWS?

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I do some preprocessing then I upload about 2k symbols into DynamoDB. Then I refresh the quotes via the TD API/Lambda and download about 800 option chains on roughly 80 symbols. All of that is less than a happy hour drink/day - My AWS bill is between 25 and...

Once you open the account you need to wait until it is approved (took about an hr) once it is approved you can download the software (I've a Mac and the download works on MAC as well) - very similar like TOS - when you launch it it's java based and it downloads the most recent release. You have...

I just opened an account with them. Looks like it is a legit site - they're listed as a SIPC member. Is there anything else I should check before I wire the money? I've never dealt with a new brokerage - my accounts are with TD and IB and they've been around for a while so I wasn't that worried...

I agree - those rates look amazing. Wondering how long it'll take for them to have an API and mobile interface and if they will be able to offer portfolio margin right from the beginning.

Anyone running their algos on AWS?

I've been using AWS for years - definitely working out well. Also look at using AWS lambda - I've converted some parts of my trading system to lambda functions and it's super cost efficient - no need for any EC2 instances. Only works with stuff that doesn't need a client connection to something...

Johnny - nobody is arguing that selling straddles is not a profitable strategy - just don't drink too much of the kool aid. I'll try to keep the summary short but it is picking up pennies in front of steam rollers and most people can't handle a 10% gain strategy when it has a 40% draw down...
