    Any trader From Italy?

I was in Tallinn for an extended weekend and drove through the whole of Estonia in one day. I think it is an underrated country. If you go outside Tallinn it is s alot more impowerished and you can see they have a long way to go to reach EU standard. But Tallinn is really beautiful. But the...

    Any trader From Italy?

Yes, Copernicus. I was considering moving to Estonia this spring. But after consideration I found out it was not worthwile. Two problems in Estonia: language and climate. Climate the same as Norway, perhaps even worse in the winter, and I dont want to invest my time in learning Estonian. I could...

    Taxation of non-resident proprietary traders

http://www.taxlinks.com/rulings/1984/revrul84-158.htm (this is not the proper link but indicates the law) My tax accountant showed me this link. Ive filed to the IRS every year. Its a hassle but I get a tax credit for my taxes in the US so it doesnt really matter much moneywise.

    Problems with 3 Matrox cards?

I can vaguely remember reading about some people having problems with running the computer properly when 3 dualhead Matrox cards were installed (I've tried to find the thread but couldn't find it). Currently I'm running my Win2K with one G400 AGP and g450 PCI, both dualheads (processor is...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

Does anybody have more more research on this ("some solid facts")? I can vaguely remeber that Lescor checks charts before the opening based on TA. I like to have some statistics before i do anything but this is something I have completely ignored.

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

No, there was a crash in November, I think, just around the opening. The market went straight down and I lost money, only to see the market turn up when we realized it was no terror. BTW, Taleb's Fooled by Randomness is very good.

    smaller average order sizes

Silk, I agree with you. I trade pairs and there's a lot more trending these days than there used to be. I used to sit and wait for big prints either up or down (basically a free lunch), but they are much more rare now. I have to scale in and out of positions.

    Pairs Trading Strategy Model

Nothing wrong with trading less shares in volatile spreads, I do that, but FD/MAY is not my cup of tea. Just by looking at the 5 mins chart over the last month I know instantly this is not what i want to trade. It doesn't "regress to the mean" very often. That's why I stopped trading FRE/FNM...

    Pairs Trading Strategy Model

No way I would trade FD MAY at all, in my opinion it's too volatile. Several dollars a week is more than my stomach can handle..... I prefer low volatile spreads, FD MAY is a wild beast. I've never looked at it before now, but there's not enough "ebb and flow" in the pair for me to trade it...

    Pairs Trading Strategy Model

I've tried trading pairs both as mean reversion and trending. My research and experience tell me that mean reversion is the way to go (I only trade highly correlated stocks, not anti-correlated). I put on one unit, add one unit, take off one unit etc, trading only the same pairs every day and...

    Don's Openings, Part 6 2003

I can only speak for myself, but I've been doing this for several years and it seems to be diminishing returns. That's my experience.

Echo Trade, one of the best firms out there

I've been with Echo for two years and still happy with them. There were some issues with the quotes in March (i think) but as far as I can see it wasn't Echos system. I'm sitting two yards away a guy who trades with Bright and he had exactly the same quotes as me (quotes freezing). As far as I...

    Luck be a Lady

I believe that most traders are lucky. Anyone by can by luck make incredible gains in a period of two years. There are som many trying this game. Istarted trading back in 1992. I made about 500% in my first two years (I did about 40 trades). Unfortunately, i thought i was a genius. All my...

    Niederhoffer new book

So, after 30 mins at the bookstore you have read the whole book and found lot of errors? For example? I have read the book and already made back 100 fold after reading chapter 8. The book was OK, not spectacular. This is fascinating with books: Keep an open mind and ypu'll learn something...
