The perspective is that the mkt seems a little ahead of itself here. The weekly's charts seem to adhere more to patterns, then daily charts - IMHO. I do expect some sort of pullback next week being at a key point in the channel.

Hey Murray, that's some good info to know and things like that should have a dramatic effect on public buying power in 06, even though nat gas is probably 'another' item that is left out of the inflation numbers  FWIW I think this market will continue to pull in for some time...

    The Million $$$ Quest...

36 trades in a day on a $9K account...if that doesn't qualify as overtrading I don't know what is. As the other poster stated, take some time off, develop your (a) system that works and quite using real money your just going to lose it. Save what you have left and spend some time on a...

Chewy, that first chart with P/E ratio for the last 80 years or so really tells that tale. I would think that even the most basic chartist can see that a regression to the mean is in order here. The people that don't want to hear that seem to me to be the same one's saying that P/E 'didn't...

    The New US Bankruptcy Law

The problem is a ton of borrowers are leveraged to the hilt as it is and as time progresses the interest only or floating rate mortgages of 5-6% is now 8-9+%, the credit card debt of 16% is now 21-22+%. If there are millions of people just making ends meet now, what's going to happen when there...

Good Post! I agree alot has to do with experience and market feel. I use a combination of tech analysis (ie; Fib #'s, macd, rsi, put/call ratio, etc) and experience, market feel (if there is such a thing, lol). My feelings are that this market sold off farther and faster then it 'should' and...

Take a look at what happened after 9/11, if you loaded up on bear call spreads when the crash was at it's zenith you would have gotten crushed when the market began it's rally.

    Dual Citizenship

If you make a $200k term deposit in a Panamanian bank that will automatically qualifiey you for residency. I believe you have to leave it there for 2 years, so it generates a monthly income of $750 (or more). Once you have your residency you can stay as long as you like in the country, obtain...

Whew, what a day. Talking about support for a bit...I was a little disappointed that the 1190 level didn't hold intraday as I had thought it was a major support level in my analysis intraday and was happy to see that level again on the close. For any of you that follow Fibinacci analysis, if...

Hedge funds guys top NYC Salary Guide

Hey nitro, The amount the high level govt 'really' take home (off the books) is a lot more...corporations, special interest groups, lobbyists, etc. Govt's are corrupt at every corner of the earth and always on the take. To accept the fact that they only receive their salary is just a little...

I remember it was fluctuating quite a bit, the mid hit $1.00 when the market touched 1220 and I was filled at $.90 I like to take advantage of fast moving markets/volatility when I can to try and capture some of that volatility.

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Anyone else taking advantage of todays volatiltity? I just got a fill of $.90 on the 1175/65 OCT bull puts spread. Didn't think I would get it but the SPX dipped to 1220 and the order filled. :D I put this trade on today because I still see 1218-1220 and 1200 as key support levels then 1190.

That's incorrect, max loss for 1 contract is $950 ($1000 for the spread - $50 credit) not $9950. If you are thinking 10 contracts then max loss is $9500 ($10000 spread - $500 Credit)
