    RIMM earnings after the bell!!

My emotions used to think the same way. However, I did a study on RIMM DSO about a year back, and to my surprise, the DSO was perfectly flat to low for years. So that channel stuffing argument doesn't pass the muster. I'm looking for some kind of quantitative arguments to back up that...

    RIMM earnings after the bell!!

Gotta give props to rimm. Either they are doing something funny with numbers, or the growth keeps exploding. Anyone study the fundamentals much here? Even options expensing only changed it from 1.20 to 1.17. Trivial.

wtf was that at 4pm. huge high vol selling

I just shook my little 8 ball. It said, "there will be no rate change" Fed will say "we are watching inflation and will think about it. The economy was very robust. Housing had some soft patches that look to be moderating soon." Stock market will pullback at 1st, then rally hard into the...

    liquidity cycle

Found some nice stats and charted distribution. If I am interpreting correctly, we are about 4.5 yrs into current bus cycle expansion (give or take, depending upon if we are in contraction yet), which is well approaching the tail end of the curve. Can't nail down specifics, as recessions aren't...

    SMA calculation question

    n should coincide with the last complete closing price you have available. I.e. 1) 3 per SMA n1 -day 1 close - N/A n2 -day 2 close - N/A n3 -day 3 close:sma=sum(n1+n2+n3)/3 n4 -day 4 close:sma=sum(n2+n3+n4)/3 ... If x(n) or n(n) is not complete, it is not included or the...

    Jobs Report Bull Honky

Interesting... "the best indicator that people are very happy with their financial situation is the stock market is performing very strong." I guess consumer confidence isn't polling the right people. They need to have some statistical adjustments made to consumer confidence index measures to...

tomorrow we go down some more

I call it shortsqueezeophobia. Long black candlestick down, you pop open the champagne bottle and the next morning stock gaps up on zero news, then roars to new highs. These dark pool operating deep pockets are masters of pavlov conditioning.

where to find historical EPS Rev

That's a great site, thanks. About the only other request would be to have the eps and rev data on a 1 page table over the total period.

Apple Tell: When everyone says sell the release, its too obvious.

There were a ton of blogs and barrons calling for shorting appl around 85, today's price shows the outcome of that.

Do As I Say, Not As I Do

John Carter's "mastering the trade" has one of the bests intros about how traders get faded by their brokers, and go through massive pain and suffering seeking the holy grail in 3 stages IMO. Don't know much about his track record, but those first few chapters show he's been in the trenches...

    liquidity cycle

I was pretty much referring to commercial hedgers of major index futures. "Commercial - The CFTC classifies a futures account that meets the reporting level as a "commercial" when that account holder files a statement with the Commission that states it is commercially engaged in business...

Not a fan of amzn's business model. All though they do get these odd squeezes and rescue surges (like when legg mason almost had a bad yr. on horrible earnings, but lo and behold, amzn magically got added to s&p 500 and the stock surged at the end of the year, promptly tanking on jan earnings...
