    Questions for experienced daytraders

Ok...you can control the game my ending it....that is true. But with a coin flip, you either wind up winning or wind up losing. Random walk theory says that the result will oscillate around zero but it can spend lots of time in the loser catagory or lots of time in the winner category...

I am full in cash now even in 401K

Oh man, I like that. I might have to steal that quote as a trading philosophy.

    Successful Traders...do you Tithe?

Because if there weren't fast talking preachers, you'd have probably never heard of him. You do understand that God could "win" at any time, and this is more about faith...a test...right? I mean, if God came down to earth with the lightning and 60-foot tall Jesus swinging a Scythe, locust...

    Argghh! Remote trading

I did find I could run a dedicated platform from a flash drive on a "foreign" computer. But interestingly, I guess my complaint was heard and I got an e-mail from CTS saying that they will be putting a trailing stop on their web and i-phone platforms this weekend. I have to give them...

Economics Basic Questions need help with them

At least have the guts to google them all individually. These are basic questions, like a kindergartener needs to know their right from their left. Hey guys, ever hear of a technological event horizon? It is the point in time where the machines become smarter than people and so we, today...

    Successful Traders...do you Tithe?

This is not intended to be religious. But just wondering how many of you successful traders give back 10% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tithe In the church, it means giving back 10% to the church. But I'm sure it can be extended to any good cause regardless of your believe system. Giving...

    Argghh! Remote trading

Looks like I'd have to do a re-configuration every time I downloaded it. Trying to do "stealth stuff" at work. Anyone ever put a platform on a flash drive? Anyone? SM

    Argghh! Remote trading

Hey all, After looking for a platform that allows me to use a web-based trading platform THAT HAS A TRAILING STOP, I selected a broker that accomodates that platform. Now I find out that this web-based platform doesn't have a trailing stop. Even though the platform company's OWN WEBSITE...

    Questions for experienced daytraders

Thanks for the reply. I do get that you shouldn't add to a losing position...but I don't get why anyone would delay adding to a winner. Lets say you were playing the ES, and you bought one contract at 1400, at 1401 it was looking good so you add another contract, and at 1402 things started...

    Questions for experienced daytraders

Here's my 2 cents: Don't trade unless you're pretty sure that you're going to make money. And then stay in it until you're pretty sure you're going to lose money. Maybe be more skittish about jumping out...first sign of trouble and you're out. "Pretty sure" should be about 90% system...

CTS T4 Users...who do you trade with?

Turns out they run a variant of it and they may not offer the web based platform of T4. Anyone else have feedback? SM

CTS T4 Users...who do you trade with?

Hey all, Looking for a good firm that supports the CTS T4 Platform for trading futures...Emini S&P specifically. Especially looking for a firm that supports the web-based application. Who do you use, how are they and how are their fees? Will all my funds be tied up or can I buy a few...

Is there a platform completely web based?

OK, I was able to figure out how to view it. Looks promising. Can it give me 1-minute candles? (I don't necessarily have to have that...but it would be nice). Can I papertrade this platform to test it out? TIA, SM

Is there a platform completely web based?

OK, I'm still trying to find something. OEC is nice, and I tried using a remote connect like gotomypc to control it. The problem there is it just takes too darn long to log in. And that process still downloads onto my PC anyway. Like I say, just too slow. I also found gofutures.com...

Is there a platform completely web based?

The Gotomypc.com sounds like the solution I was looking for. I was very interested in the strategy runner, but apparently you still have to download some software...or at least you do for the demo. The beta...well...I better not. Thanks for the suggestions. SM

Is there a platform completely web based?

Hey all, I've caught the bug for trading the e-mini S&P futures. I want to trade it during the day, but unfortunately I have a day job. Sneaking a trade here and there has never been a problem for me as a swing trader and I could probably get away with setting a few trades for the e-mini...

    First time on a Simulator

No. Only on a smulator. Hey if you like that, yesterday around lunch I went long on a couple of contracts and then the power on my laptop went out. One thing led to another and I didn't look at the account until late last night. I was up $1200! :) BTW, how do you do a trailing stop when...

    First time on a Simulator

Thanks for the advice guys. FWIW, I do trade with real money now, so I know about the pressure of a fast execution and I think I can keep a cool head. But I will put some constraints on my paper trading and keep at it. And when I go live, I'll do one at a time. I can tell you though that...

    First time on a Simulator

Brown, Excellent, excellent info. Thanks so much. Our posts crossed each other, so I already thought about making my paper trades more realistic by not fishing for the absolute bottom dollar. I was trading one contract for most of the evening. I think I played like 3 or 4 hours and I...
