Would it be more correct to refer to the steeper on as the demand line and the less steeper one as the trend line? The logic (?) would be the same I believe.

I typically would not take a short from a steeper line break if there was another line close, as I would expect some type of reaction on that line. I guess this would just be a risk mgmt. element that I try to keep in mind. DB, is this one of those things I do that just clutters up a...

Just start looking for a line break and a retracement.

Just doing my evening homework and noticed that today's two good long trades had the same type origin. A hinge that broke to the upside and tested the midpoint. Maybe I should only play hinges!

Thanks db, I guess I was trying to go by this, apparently I missed something. I will re-read.

40D, Nice trade yesterday. I had similar entry, but exited on trendline break. Price then retraced more than 50% of previous thrust. What were you watching that kept you in, or did you exit and re-enter when price went back above the 50% level?

I made a mistake, by exiting on a minor line break. I should have honored the fanned line, but thought we were hitting resistance. I left a lot on the table. Poor trade management? Lack of skill/knowledge? Fear of loss? All of the above. Trailing higher lows would have worked...

I will be interested in participating in the ETF sector thread. A follower at least, if I am not able to contribute. DB, thank you for mentioning Schabacker earlier. I have not read him and just ordered his tech analysis book. Sounds like he and Wycoff were very similar.

Looking over my charts this morning, I notice that we may be at an interesting point tomorrow. (True almost everyday) The downtrend from about the 20th which evolved into a sideways channel/range seems to have a midpoint of about 3218 as there have been at least 8 rejections of that level...

Got it! Hopefully this shows it, although my lines may be drawn better. I thought you may have been suggesting that one index led the other.

DB In your last post you mentioned that the bottom in 08-09 was evidenced by the db in the naz, (the second bottom coincided with the low in the dow.). I am not quite sure how to relate that to today's markets when I see the dow and sp making possible double tops while the naz is making new...

DB mentioned in an earlier post that traders who use stops to manage trades are remise in taking responsibility for the trade themselves. I believe, and can offer personal testimony, that many traders do the same with a moving average. It is a convenient way to enter or exit a trade without...

LF Please refer to my first post on this. Prediction states something "WILL" happen. PA trading implies something "may" happen. Not semantics. Have a good weekend all!
