Your point is well taken. Sometime around 3:30 I realized I'd probably sell KNDL today based on FRV and by the time my fingers got around to it, it had dropped from .80 gain to .50 gain on the day. I still managed to make about 2% but I was minutes (or seconds) away from 3%.

On my tradestation screen KNDL passed 44,431 at about 11:31 ET on my screen. Stoch was very close, just under 80 (it has been 80 just a few minutes earlier) and MACD looked good, so I luckily took a shot at $24.59. One of our data sources for volume is incorrect in this case but...

Interesting to wonder how many people are now watching/following this strategy or something similar. If you look at the 5 min chart on Boom volume started to surge around 11am and has been moving for the last 5 time periods.

Thanks; good way to look at it. I also get the data originally through Reuters but I found the fairly cheap program at AAII (Assoc of INdiv Investors) that puts all the data into a pretty easy weekly download and allow me to build screens in there (or export to Excel/Access to do my work)...

Thanks. I do have Tradestation but the problem is that you CAN program the radarscreen to generate alerts but you can only attach buy/sell actions to individual charts (which I think is dumb) so unless you want to get into writing macros or using macros you can't trade based on the radarscreen...

I looked at both of these in the past and they looked like good products but I didn't realize that they could watch a list of stocks intraday and execute trades based on criteria. I like AmiBroker quite a bit for EOD but intraday is a little clunky because you can only scan/trade on a one...

I wanted to try to do some backtesting and therefore needed to see if I could recreate RS and EPS ratiing for prior time periods. I was pretty successful get creating an RS formula as this was not difficult (since it is based on stock price changes vs market changes). I then downloaded...

I currently have the following: Trading account at IB Account at Tradestation along w/ Tradestation 8.1 AmiBroker Because Tradestation doesn't have a market scanner I use AmiBroker to program scans using EOD data to look for certain patterns (such as volume breakouts, etc). and then come...

In addition to a small profit on NGPS (I hung in there early but then sold when it didn't hit FRV) I thought I'd mention a few other trades that I tried that are slight variations to the strategy (15% run ups in 6 months not 20% and at least 3 run ups, not 5 times). I am testing on the fly so...

Good job (I think!). That is exactly the price I got in at also. I was waiting for a little pullback since it was up but I gave up and took it at this price. Mike

How to make Raderscreen act as scanner

I don't understand your last post because a few of us have already answered the questions below: Here is your initial quesitons: -I want Raderscreen to find me a list a symbols from all universe of 15,000 stocks that meets the conditions that i have specified -Sort upcoming new...

NDAQ is definately on the full list that I have. I went back and checked and this went up nicely 5 times in the last 6 months but all were between about 13% and just under 20%; none over 20%. In this regard it WAS in dryup the evening of 11/11 (for possible trading on 11/12) but I did not...

How to make Raderscreen act as scanner

There are a few .pdf documents that you can download from their site (probably in the member area) that explain radarscreen but the concept it pretty simple (I"m not an expert, I don't use it that much yet). 1. Open a radarscreeen window in your desktop/workspace. 2. Put the lisdt of stocks...

How to make Raderscreen act as scanner

I don't know if they still have the limitation, but Radarscreen was only able to have something like 1000 symbols at a time. It doesn't do overall market scanning. For end of day I use other products to scan for info. I don't use anything intraday but I'd love to find out if there was...

I took a quick look at this and couldn't find where you'd set the RS or the EPS settings to the the 80/90 list. Can you point out the way you filtered the list?

First, just for clarity, they fit all Hershey criteria except the number of runups. They all have high RS and EPS and they all are in dryup by the current definition. The only difference is that they have run up 3 or 4 times in the last 6 months rather than 5. As it relates to these...

In addition to the ones mentioned I have SNTS (EPS = 80, RS = 90) as being in dryup. Also, I have a few that don't meet the "run up 5 times" but did run up 3 or 4 times in 6 months and are in dryup: (run ups frequency noted) LUFK (4), PDC (3), PQUE (3) , TALX (3), THE (4) Mike

I have a similar list with a few comments: RATE: I think the highband must be > volume and my data doesn't show this for RATE. TIE: I think we are supposed to be < $50. TIE is currently at $51.25. I'm not sure if this should qualify or not; maybe it's grandfathered in. CMCO: I...

Spydertrader: Thanks for the quick response. I understand your response and your results were outstanding so if it works there is no reason to change - but I'm still curious about the method for dryup.... Wouldn't it make more sense to create something that focuses on recreating a way...

I'm going through the old journal to try to answer my question and I came up w/ the following post from about a year ago (part of the post): DU cycle - add lowest volume during each cycle divided by the number of cycles. Du 5 - lowest volume averaged 5 days before breakouts averaged over...
