Mostly holding long term positions in the futures market takes more capital than anything else. You can not hold long term if you are leveraged to the hilt. Skill and everything else is about the same as trading stocks. Good trading to you guys, Gary

What TF are you trading on? Looking at the weekly, daily and hourly charts they are all looking positive to me. The next level of resistence goes back to 2001 at 49.85. But short term I see 47 coming very soon. I am not trading it right now so I really don't have a bias I am just throwing in my 2...

    Econ 101 Question?

For me it would depend on the situation. If I was taking a dump in the woods the toilet paper would be more valuable. If I was starving and at Mc Donalds then the roll of dollars would be more valuable

I can't see it real time but looking at my charts you should have support at 1424. I hope you guys do well on it.

Hey Guys, Looks like it dropped down and bounced off of support today. The ascending triangle is still valid. I would go long at 1454 or short at 1420. Which ever trade came up first should be a good 20 points per contract. JMHO... Gary

Hey Romik, JJ and all the rest I have been on vacation for a couple of weeks and got back yesterday. Here is what my hourly chart shows. An ascending triangle forming. I would be expecting another up move soon. Take Care, Gary

    Breakouts

I buy high and sell higher as well. Volume helps me to decide if I should enter this way or not. But not eveery trade will win. It is ok to have a losing trade as long as you stick to your plan. And get out at your stop you will be ok. Just keep a good look out for the next level of support...

    Breakouts

No mind reading here. I suck at that. But the chart said to wait until one of those zones came up to trade. Now it is in no mans land but just be patient with it. You will eventually get a trade out of it. Good luck on it.

Looks like it could be forming a bullish flag on the monthly chart. Good work there Romy :)

Thanks Escape...You are right about this trade. CM, Here is what I see on this trade. If you would have told me 2 days ago you were going long based on a divergence I would have said way to go, be careful when price gets to 30 due to resistance. But telling me right now that you would go...

Use neighbor's unsecured WiFi as backup connection?

LOL...I have done this a time or two. My DSL went down and in my neighborhood I found 4 other wireless networks, one was not secured and I got a decent signal so I used it long enough to check email. I did eventually tell my neighbor that I did it and even helped her secure her network. After I...

What to tell my neighbors about my trading career.

This is why I don't talk to my neighbors. I'll wave and say hi but that is about all.

    Breakouts

CM, Hey, how you doin? I hope this will help explain why some of these are failing. I think you might be classifying the breakout too early. It is a common mistake to say it has broken out of a pattern as soon as the candle crosses our lines that we draw. The real breakout is after it breaks...

Those retracements on the 5 minute charts can make for nice scalps if a person will be patient and see if it turns into a breakout of a flag pattern. If it does not and turns into a reversal then at least you would not have entered or lost money. But I like the 15 minute charts myself.
