my smugness is in response to whiners who blame their bad trades on others, etc.

    Mr. Scott - BQI

here's a hint. the time to buy BQI was over a $1 ago people who chase highs often lose... duh nobody wanted it $1 ago BQI is also heavily leveraged to crude prices. crude is pretty high right now i have sold almost all my BQI could it go up? absolutely. but it's about...

    CLass action against FED

exactly. i like to think of losing traders as forced liquidity providers

    F U Fed

loser mentality all over this thread. get a grip. the fed, reactions to the fed, and actions by the fed are a PART of the market the market is not some rarefied entity that exists independent of such things. obviously, you are trading your OPINION. iow, according to you, the...

A Very Blunt Question For You Pro's

"Well then my question is if it is not rigged, why did the Federal Reserve come to the markets rescue to keep it from falling more? And why did President Bush not once but twice in as many days try to calm the markets? Why isn't the market allowed to keep falling as it is allowed to keep...

How to know when your ready

imo (having trained futures traders and seeing what works and what doesn't) starting to trade futures with 4k is absurdly optimistic. really. hey, if u can afford to lose it - go right ahead

A Very Blunt Question For You Pro's

it is not rigged. that's a loser mentality, and what losers use to blame others for their failures. the stock market is the greatest wealth building creation ever seen by man. it helps to price assets (and risk), and offers anybody the opportunity to own pieces of some of the greatest...

    CLass action against FED

#1 sign of a losing retail trader... doesn't take responsibility for his own trades. i've seen it over and over again. traders who blame anybody but themselves are not ever going to be professional profitable traders.

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

15+ ES target = (roughly) 150 pt YM target i was referring to YM i generally take first target based on ATR calculations. in a less volatile market (on an intraday scalp) i might take first target +6 since i split up my trades into 4 segments (which means trades are a multiple of 4...

    Too many bears?

"This is not the time to guess, it's time to protect your capital." this is a time to INCREASE your capital. for pete's sake, the opportunities are everywhere. this is supposed to be a TRADING website. traders can make $$$ off either direction. if you can't, you are not a trader.

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

"to anyone who thought today was easy, do you use stoplosses? " anybody who trades index futures w/o stoplosses deserves to lose all their money. of course i used stoplosses. "If you let your position ride without stoplosses or trailing stops this would have been a normal day in the...

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

"That said, if one traded COUNTERTREND, buying deep dips on bursts of volume and selling on brief rallies, this afternoon would have been gravy. Although I trade countertrend before 2 PM, I don't afterward. Today was one of those days in which breaking one of my rules would have worked." i...

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

"Commonly flawed logic. The spread means zilch, unless a trader always exits at the extreme end of every move. Otherwise, the spread is absorbed in the price action after trades are exited." false. yet another trader who doesn't understand math why am i not surprised. it DOES make a...

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

the advantage is the SPREAD ceteris paribus, a contract with a smaller spread is more cost effective it's that simple from an n=several hundred basis, extensive testing of my setups (i realize this is not necessarily relevant to all setups) shows that YM trades have greater positive...

How many traders get pleasure other than money

i trade futures (i invest in stocks though), so i am well aware that EVERY dollar marked to market in my futures account comes from somebody else's loss. see: shadenfreude (sp?) with that in mind... i just like to see tradeable, "logical" markets. when it comes to index futures, i...

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

well, first of all - i don't trade the ES. i trade the YM imo, unless you trade some pretty big size, the ES is an inferior instrument for intraday trading - a subject i have gone over endlessly today was simply a gift for traders. wonderful, wonderful moves.

The first crash resulted in the uptick rule now....

just amazing we actually had a NICE down day (beautiful day to trade futures). hardly some kind of massive selloff. not even 3% on the dow for pete's sake. calling this a "crash" is patently absurd

    Today sucks! 08-09-2007

if you couldn't make oney today, you need to reassess your trading methodology today was a GIFT you could not ask for a better day for a trader to make large move trades (reward) with small risk. seriously. i have never (literally) seen a better day for trading index futures
