yeah one thing i'm worried about is that when i have real money on the line, i won't be able to be as objective when looking at the charts. when i do start with real money thought i will start small enough that i won't "care" that much about the pnl. then build up from there.

commission = $2.50 per trade so $5.00 per round turn. i will try to use short and long term charts. i know that you don't advocate intraday trades, but i need to get the practice in. if i only use daily charts i will have to wait too long before a grail shows up. one problem is that i...

    CNBC is facing scary times

you know why i stopped watching cnbc? they repeat the same news over and over again in all the different shows throughout the day. they also don't have anything exclusive. i don't know why everyone thinks maria bartolomo (spelling?) is hot. there are plenty of women everywhere better...

what were the reasons that b1s2 gave for saying that intraday trades are futile? too much noise in general or was there something more specific?

here's what i've noticed so far. i know i haven't seen enough samples yet, but it seems like profit target is better for short time frames. in the past few trades, a grail appears so i look for the opposite grail for an exit. but by the time the opposite grail shows itself, the price has...

during afterhours trading, why do you guys still look at ES to identify grails? during that time period the Asian and European markets lead the ES, correct? so wouldn't you look at those markets to identify grails? maybe when you look at long term charts, this doesn't matter. but since i'm...

do you see the divergence/failure swing on the daily? i guess i don't understand why you think the daily is weak but the weekly is strong. what's the difference? both have rsi at around 70, both are trading at top of their price bands, and both don't show a short grail.

i guess you're saying rsi was in high 60s at that time too. so what do you consider an overbought rsi number for weekly?

isn't weekly rsi at 70 too?
  15. M

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

why is this overbought? because of the absolute level of rsi? i thought this doesn't matter. i don't see a shortgrail.

i think this is the first grail i recognized before the fact. so after you get in on a long grail your stop is the reaction low or short grail, correct? b1s2 did you see it too?

    IB Excel DDE VBA question

hey travis. as far as vba is concerned there are errors. the error is that you are feeding a string "#NA" into a double variable. your solution is telling vba this: "don't report the errors to me." that's why you don't see the error messages anymore. but they are still there. in this...
