NYSE Front-Running needs to be addressed

Right on, emini's eh? let me know how that goes! Yeah, we've only had about 25% of our usual orders out there over the last 5-6 week, but extra nasty over the last 3. Profit drop by about 65% here, not pretty. Can't wait for no limit ,auto NX when things get bad. Watch those risk metrix...

Choices for low cost brokers for newbies?

......Just use a good broker. IB, MB, or Tradestation are all cheap for stocks. I've got accounts at all, and it's hard to go wrong with any one of them -for you. Do you want to stick your money at a place that will be out of business in 6months.......just to save 50 cents on a trade??!!! IF...

AGREED, Very, very tough market, even when your right. NYSE is worthless....the worst I've ever seen. The pennying and other illegalities ocurring down there are mind blowing. .....also agreed, go get f*kd up......we've been lit up for 3 weeks here.....won't even set foot into this sh*t...

NYSE Front-Running needs to be addressed

Thank you shaq48, I guess your handle is your idol, followed by your IQ. In thin markets the specialist holds all the cards, especially if you think you can be "bigger than the specialist" and win. He only lets you fill when he decides....it's his post your trading at.

can i buy otc stocks from ib?

OTC is any non listed stock. If you want to trade OTC (nasdaq) no problem. If you want to trade OTC (bulletin board) then closing position only at IB.

NYSE Front-Running needs to be addressed

Yeah, kinda Spec. needs to figure out direction & who to penny first! I make most of my money near the open as well........but thats largely do to the biased gap opens the spec will do to set himself up for a good day & get a piece too. Other times I have the damn stock open .01 in...

risks associated w/ self-clearing brokerage firms

Yes, IB self-clears equities. Tradestation is also ditching Bear-stearns to go self clearing in the next 30 days.

NYSE Front-Running needs to be addressed

ABSOLUTELY AGREE...PENNIED 65-70% OF THE TIME (by spec only). It's been getting worse over the past few months. From your previous posts, hayman, I really wonder if we're trading some of the same stuff.

    Sole Proprietorship Trader

Fine line at some places. If you work under a business name ie:Sole Proprietorship Trader ...you might need to pay professional fees. Yet, at other places an "individual account" is the same as a sole proprietorship account, and as long as the other qualifiers are met, then no pro fees...

No worries, IB has sent out their electronic 1099's and can be viewed on their website after logging into your account. Chose account statements- and it's just below your daily & monthly account statements.

orders not eligible for price improvement

Happens all the time, i get this about 6-8 times every morning at the open....different specs. Nothing to fight for the spec is simply filling all the limits and market orders that match up.....and just in case you would be able to get that short off.....he throws his own sales in -to...

orders not eligible for price improvement

Found the contact info: http://www.nyse.com/regulation/p1020656068597.html?displayPage=%2Fregulation%2F1022221392702.html Don't think it's worth getting, though.

orders not eligible for price improvement

Yes, as a matter of fact you can.....a lot of cross talk in it, but this massive phonebbook can be ordered from NYSE for $50-90 or something like that. I don't believe they will send you the section your looking for...as it seems to be available only to members.

orders not eligible for price improvement

Never heard of it .....and never seen it in practice, after years & 10's of millions of NYSE shares traded. Would love to see this in the NYSE handbook, though, I wouldn't doubt something like it is there as another "out" for the Spec.

orders not eligible for price improvement

Think I've seen it too.....only with certain market makers such as Trimark...they like the easy pickings of market orders. As far as most exchanges....limit orders are always available for price improvement.

    CALPERS Files Lawsuit vs NYSE

Screw the NYSE and all of you who have to have the specialist "crutch" to trade with...I take 25-45% of the NYSE volume in a single security (many of them)...I can do that because I can soak it up at a profit & ARB the rest to keep it where it should be. The specialists will steal you blind if...
