Is this a good risk management strategy?

Seems to me that you haven't expressed yourself well and some others have misinterpreted your meaning. You've said that you place a trailing stop, so therefore you do take profit if price moves in your favor and the trailing stop moves beyond your entry price. Are you attempting to automate yor...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Thanks for your time. I noticed three posts that were later deleted and realised they were probably the last. General semantics grabbed my interest.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Not so much a merry dance as any activity that stimulates the brain cells is worthwhile. Some things are obvious to me that perhaps are not obvious to others, also what I regard as obvious may or may not coincide what the OP was referring to - not being psychic I can't say. Regarding the...

T/A Fails Time and Time Again - Why?

Data, aka reality is the truth, math is a tool used by people for creating a model which is an approximation of reality. Always be aware of the limitations of a model and under what circumstances it is not valid.

T/A Fails Time and Time Again - Why?

Taking the view that significant price changes and new trends often start as a result of events whose timing in known in advance then it doesn't make sense not to include time in a trading strategy, whether it be discretionary or automated.

Why are People Attracted to Penny Stocks?

Probably the attraction for some is because lower price stocks often have higher % daily range compared with higher priced stocks. Conversely, higher priced stocks usually have a higher $ daily range compared with lower priced stocks. Personally I wouldn't trade low priced stocks.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Everyone is different, but for myself the only way to avoid large losses is to place a stop as soon as a trade is entered. Accepting that, the focus is then on waiting for the best entries, especially after a pause. I find that the the alternative of using a mental stop is occasionally prone to...

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Seems unlikely that you are TE otherwise I'd have been sworn at by now. I think the latest puzzle has surpassed the usual level of obscurity as the obvious meanings of the acronyms don't seem to be correct, so it will be interesting to see what if any answers you get.

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

I think that you are playing games here J_S. E48 has clearly stated the obvious meaning of the 5 acronyms apart from the error in #4, which he later mentioned including measured move. But now you say no, and 4 more remain. My gut feeling is that you are playing charades, expecting others to join...

Do you believe in the fractal nature of the stock market?

Of course there are similarities across time frames BUT: I doubt that many here have any precise idea what a fractal actually is, beyond the vague intuitive statement of the OP. Can any of the proponents of the fractal nature of price charts determine the fractal dimension of the S&P500 price...

Do you believe in the fractal nature of the stock market?

Rubbish. In intraday stock chart usually shows periods of intense activity and periods of low activity that are not matched in the same way by charts on higher time scales - daily, weekly etc.
